stop knocking stalag pontins for being "same old" some of us enjoy different things so its nice to go somewhere you like!!! you dont have to go if its not ur thing BUT STOP SLAGGIN IT OFF and let folk do their own thing!!
I dont like RARE SOUL but I dont patronise those who go to venues where that type of sounds are played

i love old & new.
use to get that @ weekenders(ive been to a few).
not now,thats why i stopped going.
a soul nite or an alniter is the way for me now.
I DONT SLAGG ANY KINDA MUSIC OFF.
i was just laughing cause my m8 goes there to hear across the board & hes getting oldies.
like many weekenders now,I dont think we get that.
bring back the mid 80s & early 90s all is forgiven.

My old mate goes to weekenders now,he takes his Mrs,this is the only time he is let out after being a VERY VERY NAUGHTY BOY,

why is rare soul and oldies.....err differant. the beef is I think,is!, if you love the oldies ,such as salvadors,tomango's ect,ect......can you switch off to things like the parliaments ,mello souls,tiara's,Arthur willis and dewey black....just seems strange, they were made at the sameish time eh all the best

Very good point this, ive never understood why this happens, although i`m all for moving the scene on as its been my life and wouldn`t know what to do without it, i`m as much at home at an oldies night its the experience for me,

I Do have a good sense of humour!!! just like to view my opinion now and again!!!! not at the weekender myself so all them going HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!

Couldn,t agree more, I remember 2004 , the big hall both Friday and Saturday nights was awesome, record after record, cutting edge stuff, regular sortee,s into the 70,s- crossover room left you in limbo of which room to stay in cos you didn,t want to miss anyone,s set, added to that Melvin Davis and particularly Phil Perry,s 1st set were also awesome. 2005 didn,t live up and the last 2 years have only been worth going to because of the 70,s-crossover sets on Friday night and Saturday plus Lifeline on the Saturday afternoon, like Russ says its got to the point where its same old same old and thats why a few of us from the North east haven,t gone this year.
