Who else is on? :g::lol:

Gonna be a cracker!!!!!!!!!!!! What wig-related ensemble will you be sporting this year? Can you also clarify for Blunny whether or not its fancy dress given that he was the only parrot in the place last year.

Link to comment

We told Martin last year it wasn't fancy dress but he still appeared in his avarian outfit at the stroke of midnight........how strange..........

Smart but casual this year Phil, perhaps you should sport one of your hand knitted tank tops with a nice pair of Farah slacks. And that new paisley cravat of yours should top the outfit off nicely.

Only three weeks to go to the big event, a few people asking about accommodation so I've included a link to the website of a lovely little B&B which is five minutes walk from the Legion.

www.heskinfarm.co.uk

You're sure of a warm welcome both at the B&B and at the Legion itself......see you all on New Years Eve!

Jacko is da man if last years performance is anything to go by. He was smooth as silk on that mic; all co-ordinated countdowns and ringing it in; Salford's very own silver tongued cavalier! (He even managed not to leave the stage, still clutching and speaking on said mic, to raid the buffet. A shocking scenario of course but there were some disturbing reports of him doing just that at another venue and announcing records while spitting pork pie at cowering dancers near the stage. Will have to see what transpires, he can resist anything except temptation).

As for Mr C, he HASN'T been quite at all Mick, far from it in fact. He's been very busy with his 'other interests':

- wrestling tgroublesome swans on Pennington Flash

- working on that Staffordshire terrior / ginger cat cross-breeding programme he's devised

I'll need to explain when I see you mate, brace yourself!

Sounds intriguing, swan on the buffet menu this year then?Jacko, definitely got it down to a fine art, multi tasking, polishing off the buffet whilst talking b*ll*cks on the mic.

Another excellent Legion New Years Eve of quality soul. Had an absolute ball. Top music and a group of the finest people to bring in the New Year with.

A big thanks to everyone for their birthday wishes, cards and gifts, I was overwhelmed. And special thanks to Tony & Ann for the cake and the nibbles and of course the lift home.

Thoroughly enjoyed playing some of me tunes for you all and I hope you enjoyed 'em too. Thanks to Tony & Lisa for asking me.

And what a man that Jacko is, brilliant stage play at midnight with all the DJ's up there. Had me in stitches. Glad to hear your feeling good bud.

A Happy New Year to all and roll on next years bash!!

What, flouncing out of the loos and falling melodramatically to the ground in full view of everyone; bloody attention seeking! (Although the ambulance and eyes rolling back in your head was a realistic touch which tarnished the odd underpant I can tell you - not least Mr Cunliffe who was seen checking the dates on his buffet-related accoutrements immediately that your untimely demise was reported to him).

Seriously, had us all worried there Jacko, really glad you're ok mate! Don't worry, I made sure your records were safe, just in case, and hope you enjoyed those pies I gave to Jimmy for when you came round: just double-check the sell-by dates bud, better safe ...

As folk have already said, another really enjoyable NYE at t'Legion for lots of reasons, not least Jacko's ultra-slick pre-midnight build-up which, as is his wont, worked the gathered throng into a veritable frenzy as the seconds counted down ... 10, 9, 8, 3 (Tony ) ... PMSL. My missus then proceeded to engage in an off the cuff conga routine which she really seemed to enjoy, I will rebuild that particular bridge and speak to her at some stage in 2012 for sure. Actually, I'd better go back and see if she's woken up on that chair yet, starting to miss her as the bloody washing is piling up here

Top night then: loads of great friends, good music: what else do you want? Good on the Brookseys as per.

See a few of you end of the month I hope.

Cheers

Phil
