  • One of the best soul nights, I've been to, in this neck of the woods for many years, reminded me so much of Albrighton, loads of atmosphere, top sounds, top D.J.'s, no politics, no egos etc etc, I can see this being one of the MUST DO nights in the soul calender, see you all in June. Des Parker

Hi Dolly, I recently received a PM from Mick saying he might be working away this week and may not be able to commit to Bidds after all, but have not had any further confirmation either way from him. I also PM'd Mick last night to see if there was any news, however I'm still waiting on an answer.

It now seems Mick has double booked himself for the night, and despite not having confirmation either way you can only presume that he will not be at Bidds...unless Mick can tell us different?

No surprise there then....he's even double booked himself for his own Lifeline events in the past.

Can some-one please buy Mick H a decent diary for Xmas......

Pound to a penny he turns up at the 100 club later on.

Looking forward to a return visit to Bidds and hearing some fab tunes later on.

Must remember to pack a jumper as it can get a bit chilly in that room , and also some sensible dance shoes this time as I feel I could be spending much time on the floor tonight.

Carms, always a good idea packing a jumper just in case, but to be honest, the last few have been roasting in there.

Joan reckons they must be setting a bonfire alight in the roof space.....

Many thanks to Dave Welding for stepping in last minute to fill Mick H(opeless's) boots...ensuring the total high standard of the music policy for the entire evening.

P.S. I will have NYE tickets with me tonight if anyone wants to pick them up.

Regards

Mace

The man above will never make a weather man , in fact I am conviced he was a penguin in a previous life:)

It was bloody freezing after 12 ( they ran out of heating oil ) but I will say this the tunes were on FIRE !

An awesome collection of tunes played by all the Dj's , we loved all the sounds heard , such a shame there wern't many people there to hear them , their loss was our gain because I have always said this when the room isn't too full you get the very best chanced by the Dj's , some lovely slower tempo sounds too which can't fail to move you soulfully. I was more than happy with what I heard so well done to the team behind the event.

IN particular i liked

Pete Best played lots of tunes I didn't know one of which I noted , that went with a main lyric of " Such a wonderful feeling " love to know what this is.

Also the one that knocked us for six played by Dave Welding was Clay Brown "Everybody's talkin"

Top class tunes & well worth the price of the flight back to the uk from Durban. Such a shame that not more went but as Carms says possibly made the music even better. Do hope people don't give up on this night as it's top class

The Git

P.S. Still able to suprise you Browny.!!!
