Andy,Julia & the rest of the team at Soulful Dance @ The Weekender 2, can't thank you enough for putting on another incredible weekender :hatsoff2:

Last year was gonna take some beating, but you did it guys. The whole package was fantastic, from the friendly meet & greet on Friday, to the two fantastic dance rooms, that had something for everyone over the course of the weekend, to the wonderful staff at The Langdales, who couldn't do enough for us (changing their breakfast times to 9.30am-11.30am to suit us dirty stop outs  ) it was such a nice thing for them to do  They were very welcoming at The Weekender 1, but this year, they were part of the family, and they were enjoying it just as much we were

There's far too many highs to mention them all, but here's a few of mine

Kevin Oxberry's set on the Friday night

The great decor in both rooms

Saturday afternoon's get together, especially Pete Haigh's Philly Selections

The impromptu dance off - and me dragging a rather shy Ronnie from Birmingham up on to the floor (as I knew what he could do) & seeing the look on peoples faces when he started dancing & tore the floor up!! It was like being at a break-dance in the Bronx, just to erm Philly sounds, and in erm Lytham St Annes (which is a lot rougher than the Bronx)

The Chimps Tea Party on Saturday evening and the clever naming of the soul food menu by Judie. I didn't go for the funky chicken, instead I had a "house" salad, it was those little touches that made us all go awwwh!!! Ooh the c.d that was softly being played during our tea, that was nice, what was it ??? :g:

Saturday night - was great throughout from the madness of Room 1 "Soulful Dance,Jazz,House,Disco & Boogie" to the calming of Room 2 "Soulful Mellow Tunes & New Soul"

Glyn Thornhill - you are sooo versatile and played fabulous sets in both rooms straight after each other. I never thought I'd be dancing and almost crying (cos the song hits me right there) to Ray Pollard's Drifter at The Soulful Dance weekender 2, but these tunes, were to most of us, our beginnings, and they have a place in our make up (not sure if that's the right phrase, I'm a wee bit tired & brain dead at the mo) & they have earned the right to be played anywhere

To all at Soulful Dance thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! Looking forward to Soulful Dance @ The Weekender 3

Take care & bye for now

Thanks Alison, Dranny & yes Russ & Sue you were missed.

Great people, wonderful music played by DJs who know their way round a sound system - huge respect to all of you for being a part of our "SD@ Weekender 2". Agree with you Alison we couldn't wish for better hotel owners - nothing was too much trouble.

Will we be doing it next year - course we will !!!!

BTW Alison the CD playing at dinner was "The Skip Scarborough Songbook" - I've been playing it in the car nearly every week since it came out earlier this year - it's brilliant.

Cheers once again guys.

Wouldn't know what one of those was like, but you, on the other hand, appear to know, so best that you stick to those type of nights out, & keep your opinions, of something you clearly know nothing about to yourself

Russ, even though we all had a fab time, you & Sue were most certainly missed :(

Talking of missing things, you missed another wheelchair stunt :wicked: (ask my carer Graham  )

Have a good holiday & see you both soon

sxmark.

Can ask that you post an introduction before posting again as per the site guidelines & drop the derogatory comments made towards an event you clearly didn't attend.

Not the way we operate on this site.

Nah don't worry sxmark, I'm just having a laugh, maybe you should try it one day ha ha.  Just kidding fella, keep on liking what you like, and I'll keep liking what I like

I am fortunate (others would say mad) in that I like all sorts of music - Northern,Rare,R&B (the old stuff, not the new),Funk,Latin,Disco,Modern,Jazz (a teeny bit),House,Garage, but between you & I, I wouldn't venture into the modern room at the Winter Gardens either (I would take a peep in the Northern room though)

If you ever get fed up of "long live the casino" step on to the darkside, you may be pleasantly surprised, you may not, but never say never

All the very best (& I do mean that)
