Despite awful weather conditions last night, well over 100 people enjoyed a great night at St John's University coming from Darlington, Leeds, Bradford and Edinboro.
Many thanks to all who made it and helped us raise over £600 for Diabetes UK.

YKSoul and Diabetes UK would like to thank those people who attended and supported the Charity Soul Night on Saturday 4th February 2012 at St John’s University, York, and for braving the conditions to get there, it really was appreciated and with other events being cancelled it really put into context the efforts that some people made to get there. We had a group of lads from Darlington who told us it took them nearly 3 hours, cheers lads. A total of over £600 was raised.

YKSoul would like to give a special thanks to both Mitrefinch for lending us a projector and to Mick Burnett for lending us the decks and the sound system for the night. Very much appreciated.

Thanks also to Sue and her staff for manning the entrance all night, they really did enjoy themselves.

YKSoul has now raised almost £55,000 for various charities, and as long as they have the support like they had on this night they will continue to do so. With the conditions as they were we managed to get over a 100 people in on the night and they loved every minute of it.

A massive thank you to our guest DJ's on the night, Jools Metcalfe, John Funnell and Mick Burnett, who treated us to an eclectic mix of across the board music which had the floor buzzing all night. Once again, a massive thank you to both these people for giving of their services and time for a worthy charity.

The raffle raised over £100 including a glass full of coins that Jools sent round so thank you to all who gave so generously.

YKSoul’s next function will be on Friday 4th May at the PO Club, Marygate, with Special Guest DJ’s Ade Stelling and Barry Forth so why don’t you come along. Tickets are now on sale so don’t miss out, and keep visiting our website for details of this and other events.

On a personal note, I would like to thank everyone for their cards and presents on the night which helped welcome me into my 60’s.
