The Phoenix Crooked Spire Soul Club

Like the boy said, last months Anniversary surpassed all our expectations. A fantastic night, fantastc Music and a room full of real Soul boys and girls.
This months looks like being another storming night. We've battled through the freezing Winter temperatures and I think we have the right to celebrate. What better place to begin then at The Phoenix. I am ready, I hope you are too.

What a fabulous night. The guests, LindaK and Mr Wicks were awesome. Enjoyed playing the earliers spot and Gigs rounded off a cracking night. Nice to see so many still Dancing as the lights came up. We try to please but also try to be honest to ourselves and play the stuff we used to listen to in our youth and hope you like it too. Nice to hear the positive feedback but also like to hear and negatives (if we don't know we can't put it right) although, personally I couldn't see any downs !!
Lucking forward to next Months - March 23rd - with our guest Glyn Sissons. We will be playing at Blackhearts All Nighters on March 24th so get along there to our great friends Club.

Difficult to justify forgotten sound when you can remember them but all too often ignored by the 'usual suspects'
Particularly enjoyed LundaK's set of Samantha's ( and Cleethorpes) standards. Van McCoy - Boogie Down - awesome
Liked the theme that inadvertently ran throgh the night as Samanthas was my Mother Ship and the majority of the evening was taken up by the sounds we used to listen to back from'73 through to around '77
Never have a play list and can seldom remember what I play as it goes with the feel of the night and by the looks of it, it went very well indeed.
Not the answer you wanted but maybe Gigs can expand on it for you.
