This is a free night only if you arrive before 9.30.......£5.00 after.

Please contact Myself or Paul Donnelly on here or facebook to reserve your place.

The Parkway Club holds approx 400 and that number WILL be reached before the night judging by the response so far.

It will be a great night.

Im not going to blurb on about the large carpark, the cheap bar, cracking sound system or the large sprung dancefloor.........damn done it now.

Slight warp...

Expectations on the music for the night were set high after listening to the Skeggy radio show which really captured the mix of new and 60's current plays frorm '75 and '76. I was really looking forward to a great night of authentic tunes of the day.... not just another oldies night. It was great to hear The Trammps, The Brothers, Willie Mtichell, Yum Yums, Tommy Bush, N.F Porter, Bobby Freeman, Tobi Legend, Rodger Collins and even LJ Johnson and The Exciters... they all captured the sense of the scene back then. But I'm afraid the night just didn't live up to the expectation musically, and didn't do the Phoenix, Wirrina nights justice.

You didn't really need to play tunes that weren't around at the time... Alfie Davidson, and the bloody awful Holly St James amongst others, and there was also far too heavy a use of Torch anthems. Where were Bobby Hutton, Frankie Crocker, Rmishots, Kenny Smith, Chaumonts, Eloise Laws, Pointer Sisters, Third Time Around....and plenty of other tunes of the day ?

If you plan to have another.... can you give it a bit more authenticity...If a job's worth doing..... etc.
