That's my manor Steve, I'll tell the boys you're OK. Very handy for the club, stations and Regents Park if you wanna go boating.

You're right and it seems Google haven't filmed that part of the sea for everyone to see what it looks like.

Hi Russ,

Hope you can make it. As you know, us Northern boys don't get down your neck of the woods too often so it would be good to catch up matey.

Really looking forward to bringing a bit of 'Just Soul' madness to this legendary venue again, this time double decking with my ever soulful JS partner Tats.

Also look forward to seeing some of the JS and Essence crowd who are threatening to join us!

Counting the days!

:0)

Why have the posts gone upside down with the latest 1st and the oldest 9th? Is it the thought of that Bully boy's attendance?

What are Sean and Tats playing these days? I'd be interested as I've not been to Just Soul for a couple of years and am out of touch with what they play now.

See y'all there! - I'm off to get the thermals sorted. It's gonna be well chilly in Oxford St at daft o'clock on Sundaymorning so it said on telly.

The current victim in the 'trying to succeed Michael Fish' saga said "If you're going to be on Oxford Street at daft o'clock on Sunday morning then it'll be well chilly". And they're never wrong, that there BBC. Brrrrr!!!

Hey!... 100 Club plus Mingus Big Band at Ronnie Scott's just beforehand!! It's like our very own open top bus tour! Er... without the bus...

Oo-er missus lets ave it!

Looking forward to having a great night at the 100 Club,

I am going on my own today as Sandra and Sheilah don't fancy the winter travel with the terrible weather.

If I am in time Ill see you at Blue Posts Toby and the rest of the merry revellers.

Well maybe it should have been held at sea. It was the second one in the club's history that I didn't really enjoy. The music was good but the crowd was low on numbers. Sometimes that's fine and they can be great nights, as was the last one, but I just didn't get it this time. It may have been lack of sleep from the previous night with young Sonny or the fact that I couldn't stray too far from a Khazi so I'd be interested to know what others thought. Maybe the music's getting a bit too funky for some; undoubtedly I've not been promoting well enough which is something that can be rectified.

It could have been the weather, time of year (though early December ones are usually very good) or clashing with Stoke (we did get one quality punter who drove down from Stoke and told me he had a great night which was gratifying). Or maybe everybody's getting a bit too old or set in their ways preferring specialist nights of modern, funk, rare, r&B or oldies rather than the across the board that I try to deliver.

We shall see: there's a ginormous party down there on the 20th and I'll get my finger out and promote the hell out of Jan 12th and see if we can get the place rocking again.

The music really was very, very good and the ones that made it danced away well, we just need to tempt another 50 or so along which shouldn't be too difficult.

Thanks to all who made it.

Ady

Had a great night - only problem I was to knackered to dance to all the great sounds- so had to pick and choose - that will teach me to try and do two nights in a row- - Steve from Doncaster

Note To Ady comment above - I think one factor was a date clash with KIngshall Stoke all nighter- most of my crew from up north went there

Sorry to here about that Ady, im not to sure who went from Norwich, if any my self, i am up to my eyes in work, never had a bad night at the 100 club, hope to be there on the 13th, imo Ady, the tempo for me just drops between 4 and 5, or it could just be me, your never too old, only if you let your self be. Have a good christmas, cheers Billy

Thanks Steve and Billy, I think Frank brought a carload from Norwich Billy and he seemed to be enjoying himself. The tempo can drop a bit before the end but I think it's just getting a breather for the final flourish; maybe we'll try and spice it up.

I personally thought the sets were superb - and not too funky at all? Butch played a masterclass in crossover at one point (inc. Little Caesar), Keith usual heavy northern rarities like the Del Larks etc and Sean and Andy also superb crossover and 70's inc. Doc Peabody. Added to the usual excellent 60's sounds and unissued stuff - nothing wrong with the music at all, as you say Ady it was really great. Would agree numbers are down probably due to a.) a biting mega recession, b.) Stoke, c.) a possible lack of promotion? All of last Saturday's DJs are playing these same sounds across the country and having no problems. I think the forward music policy is the best bit. Certainly wasn't a noticeable lean to funk sounds to my mind??

I have been noticing the usually busy record bar at the back missing recently which does seem to have a slight effect on the appearance.

I had a great time overall and judging by those who were in attendance so did they. Cheers.

Hi Ady / Billy ,

I must admit i was knackered before i left Norwich so after a 2 +hour drive i really needed and pint in the BluePosts (Hi Mr Weston).

I thought the music was great , a nice mix across all the Djs sets which kept the audience guessing what would be played next. I always enjoy the nights in the 100 club and dance as much as possible to the sounds i like. As you said Ady the numbers were only missing a few more to make it take off but it did show. Probably a combination of the "time of year /recession/gig clashes etc." The crowd was very positive from our corner of the bar area and the dance floor was always busy. Richard (Bungay) was on form and rode shotgun with me in the MX5. Been working nights since Sunday night so a bit slow on the feedback this week.

Billy drop me a line if you want a lift next time, providing you are not too busy working.

Ady keep up the good work , sometimes the crowd just takes a day off from the longest running allnighter on the scene.

It was a great night and i was glad i went !

Looking forward to the next allnighter in 2013, should be bring a car load of "Apple knockers " with me !

cheers Frank .

p.s. let me know if you need me to do a spot of vinyl spinning?

Music was amazing. One of the best for me. Sorry we didn't last the distance. I needed a full day with the errant missus.

It is pretty much across the board at the moment, but that plays to OUR personal tastes.

Not the end of the world. One quiet one in what's been a generally strong year.
