Don't travel about too much these days, but so glad I went to Pure Soul,

I had a pretty good idea what was on offer so when Steve asked if I wanted to go I jumped at the chance.

I must say I was not disappointed. Mix of music first class. No Northern soul, tired old, tired old here, just pure class.

I like my RnB especially uptempo so when Harold Burrage - She knocks me out came on, I was transported straight back to friday allnighters at Burnley, which for me ranks as my all time favourite, thanks for that whoever played it.

Also, 7 Real Ales to go at, I managed 6, oh well maybe 7 next time, overall impressions of the night, excellent, excellent, excellent

Pure Soul at the Crown is shining like a beacon in a sea of mediocrity, well done Rob

Hello Rob and Lynn,Paul and Ralph,

Thank you from the " Melton Mafia" for asking us to Dj for you.

What a great night of music played by all the Dj's, Cunnie played some nice tunes and lots I have not heard before, this is what The Crown is all about - Across the board music, underplayed, rare, nice modern,Tamla Motown,Stafford sounds, R&B, Oldies (Ralph - the Eddie Holman was great)and lots more.

Dj's given the freedom and opportunity to play what they want, all on origional vinyl as well.

Very good appeciative crowd in, with clearly numbers up again.

Nice to see Steve and his good lady Claire just like the old NMD days, a shame Kev and Simon was not there, hope to catch up with them both soon.

Nice to meet Dekka and thanks for the kind words regarding the Melton Mafia's spot.

Mark will put up the Melton Mafia playlist later.

If you like something different, please give the Crown a try you will be most welcome and possibly suprised.

The Crown has at least 7 different "Real Ales" which are great, and the Plum Stout a must or give the "Real Ciders 9% +" a try.

thank you from Steve, Carole, Mark and Louise "The Melton Mafia"

Merry Christmas and a soulful New Year to all.

KTF - Just and old soulboy at heart.

Just a quick post to thank Paul, Ralph & Rob for asking me along to play a few tracks last night.

Was nice to get back behind the decks at the Crown & play a few slightly more recent tunes after last months impromptu 60's only spot (yes you all read that right).

Was also good as always to put faces to a few names from this site, Dekka, Mark & the 2 Steve's & all your good Ladies it was a pleasure to meet you.

Will post up a playlist later for those that way inclined.

Thanks for the Smarties Lynn & be sure to get Rob to spend a bit less on vinyl this Christmas & to get you that fur coat you need for the cold months ahead :D

Can only echo whats already been said about this great little venue where the dj plays what they want to and to bring back some of those forgotten, underplayed or just rare tunes that lie in peoples box's just waiting to be heard played out again.

Suprise of the night when Shawie pulled out Guitar Ray and slapped it on the decks with a massive grin on his chops, once again a great night with great guest dj's and nice patrons thru the door, must also thank Lynn for the sweets and other goodies she put on every table.

see you all next time and have merry xmas & happy new year.

cheers Ralph
