Hello All

If you're stuck for somewhere to go on Saturday night come on over to WPH. Fabulous, nostalgic venue, large Dance floor, massive sound system and a great line up of DJ's.

I promise you won't be disappointed, so

See you all there then.

Playing some tunes getting warmed up for WPH tonight, my fave nostalgic venue. Takes me right back to queuing up outside there years back, coming out into the rain and the trains being cancelled every damn Sunday morning! :)

Brilliant night again at an excellent venue. Makes me smile as soon as I go in. Seemed much bigger in the 80's but I suppose I was smaller, and slimmer then! Lindylou 18 and her mates are a great bunch and made the night even better so thank you. Agreed on the top sets. Some top moves by Chippy, the man is made of elastic I'm sure!

Never stopped dancing. Looking forward to the next one. :)

well  a lot of us did'nt think it was a good night, every dj playing from the top 50 (can't comment on first dj we missed him) playing up to  crowds that just came out for a drink and a bit of a dance, happening more and more under the guise of a northern soul night.

the people who are travelling all around the venues week in week out keeping a lot of venues going don't seem to be catered for any more.

not asking for 100mph all night but a few of the less well played ones every hour  would be nice.

and why do djs insist on slowing the music in the last hour,we're not at a wedding, the idea is to leave the building sweating and knackered not half asleep,

Looked like a good night from where I was standing, and those I spoke to which were many seemed happy enough, the applause at the end of all the spots kinda reflected that it's a 2 or 3 times a year oldies night, just like it says on the flyer, hardly the place to be trying to enlighten the paying customers with lesser known stuff while they are bombarding the DJs throughout the evening with requests for their own personal favourites,

Like all Soul over easy events it does exactly as advertised, and long may they continue providing quality events in quality surroundings,

Well done to the management for another enjoyable evening doing exactly what it says on the tin.

Disagree with most of your comments ! Galv ! But hey ho each to their own ! Wasn't impressed with the last couple of slow tunes .... no need for that at Northern Soul venues ! But thought rest of night was good ! Just goes to prove you can't please everybody all the time :) KTF

If you where impressed with Chippy at Parr Hall you should of seen the display he put in on the floor when he came to The Stateside Nighter later

And if that was not enough he was at The Moss Bank Alldayer at St Helens where he spent most of the day on the floor as per usual, which surely must of been the highlight of the weekend as he got to share the dancefloor with Frank New (Booper) the best dancer I have ever seen

I agree with Galv, the last few hours felt more like a wedding that a northern casino type of event; the sets had nothing of interest within them and too much of same old thing top 100 NS. Credit where its due the warm up DJ did the best set of the night by a street mile; Jimmy Raye, Olympics and James Carr to name but a few, I hope he gets moved up the bill and gets main spot at next event to show how to keep the audience awake.

Those who doubt this contribution need to go to Highfield on the last Saturday of the month.
