Chris,

You will have a great time. It's a fabulous little club that is all about the music, and having a good time !

Say hello to Jos and Pete from me, and also Mandy & Paul. When I went over, I flew out Saturday morning, and back Sunday morning, because I was DJing the Friday night, when I get round to going again (Hint hint Jos !) I'll make a weekend of it

For anyone else from the UK who is thinking about attending, here's the lookback I did in November 2011:

I've seen Video of nite Dave ..looks Top. I'll give everyone your best for sure and cya on 3rd !

I'm staying with Mandy & Paul out in Haarlem (well worth a visit and has the occasional soul-nite)

'It's a fabulous little club that is all about the music, and having a good time !' Sounds Familiar lol

An All-dayer would be cool , then we could both go Dave !

I'll work on it ...Jos whadayasay?

Maybe another clandestine mission for The CISC ?

Cheers

A couple of years ago i was having a bit of a set to with some real old smokers in the Dam one had been power smoking and had a massive attack of the muchies so decided to get stuck into a couple of hash cakes .About an hour later I was really zonked and listning to some bongo type music in the back ground and watching a fly buzzing around when i heared a bit of a commotion and this guy had experianced what could only be described as some sort of breakdown on the stairs.baring in mind he weighed about 20 stone and decided he wasn't going to leave so no one could get in or out in the end some Dutch bird tempted him out with a slice of pizza , it was hilarious she would move a couple of feet and he would and so on untill he had left the coffee shop .So anyone not used to these delicious treats please HANDLE WITH CARE.

Brilliant ! It sounds like that episode of 'Father Ted' when they're tempting him into his chair with a bottle of Whiskey , but without the cakes . The Dam is certainly worth the trip (no pun intended)

Yeah definitely shame about the clash but i believe this is a one-off as Jos usually holds ASC third Saturday though owing to personal commitments it was moved for this month ! Have a Top Nite !

Anyone going to this event try and book at the easy hotel it's about five minutes walk and is top notch but no bar or restaurant .It's around 25 euro's a night and is ultra clean and very safe.Take a number 25 tram from central station this takes around twenty minutes but's a great way to see the sites of the city.Best and cheapest option is train from the airport , then tram right outside the station doors then a one minutes walk to the hotel. There are hotel shuttles that take you to the door but these take longer and are more expencive , a taxi will cost around 50 euros , shuttle around thirty euros and the train and tram around ten combined (give or take).Get settled in light the blue touch paper and whoooosh you in the Dam see you there Sharmo.

It's taken a few day's to work out the unfolding events of last saturday.Firstly I'm just coping with the flu and secondly catching up at work and posting records ect so now I'll begin. The Amsterdam soul club is a great soul club and nice to see people enjoying themselves and having a good time enjoying the music. We arrived at eight o'clock which ment we were two hours early as it starts at ten and not eight and I just took it for granted that it would have started at eight. However there were already a few folk there and the music had kicked up this gave us chance to say hello to our latest chums from the northern soul scene .The regulars are a mixed bunch of ex pat's who's zeal for the sounds remains spritely as ever and the rest are Dutch soul fans .All the dj's did great spots and track's as diverse as "Suprise party for baby" were coupled with rariety's like Ray Pollards "This time" on original shrine. So right across the spectrum .Two large screens play constant reels of soul artists and vintige mod culture including vespa's production line and scooters coming from the factory , loads of mods on rallies ect. There were guests from France , U.k and Holland.I'd recomend this for a weekend out but plan rooms ect around the area .The venue is on two levels and is normally on the downstairs but last saturday was on the top , good bars, toilets were clean and people were as usual in Holland really friendlygive it a go regards Simon.
