After Our first successful year of 2012 we start of with celebrating our first anniversary night for 2013.

A big thank you for 2012 to every one who supported our venue, all the DJs and all our soul family who traveled from all over the country, and all our local soulies we could`nt have done it without you, you know who you are, thank you.

With only four a year we try to keep it special, we play 100% Northern soul with a 100% passion, on 100% vinyl.

Festival hall is a 1920s art deco ballroom, with a balcony & large sprung wooden dance floor, and a second elevated dance floor, plenty of seating, large separate bar area with plenty of seating for chilling out, also tables for record sales, good bar prices, also has its own large free car park. A truly fantastic venue, come and see for yourself.Take a look at some past comments from our night in December

Thinking about going to this.... any chance of elaborating on the music policy a little?..

Ta.

The music policy is 100% northern soul, aimed at the dancer, every thing from classic oldies, not much modern, 100 mph, to everything else. music from wigan, torch, mecca, catacombes, samanthats, blazers, and everywhere in between.

And mary love is in there to.

hope that helps.

What a fantastic night we had on The Edge.  Again, some quality music passed through the Speakers and appreciated by a hungry dance floor. Thanks to the Guys ( and Girls of course ) for allowing me to play for you, had a great time.  Had a bit of a Barry White voice going on but managed to get through OK.Nice to chat with Mr Evison about old times and such.   With Ian, Steve and Paul playing the stuff it was a great night - Wanted in 3 States my fav track and again filled the floor as that kind of quality should.  Looking forward to the next one already with Ian and Carl on flying the East Mids flag.

Take care and see you, on a floor, near you, real soon.

Hi,

Been asked to put up a play list from Saturday night.

I have put together what I can remember but not a total list as can't remember them all. Not one for preparing in advance, rather feel the night ( if that makes sense !!) Here goes, not in any particular order :-

Frankie Beverley and The Butlers — If  That’s What You Wanted - (Gamble)

Sam and Kitty — I’ve Got Something Good — (‘scratchy’ Four Brothers)

Babe Ruth — Elusive — (US Capitol WLD)

Arabians — Take A Chance On Me — (Le Mans WLD)

Frank Lyndon — Don’t Go Away Baby — (Uptown WLD)

Burning Bush — Keeps On Burning — (Mercury WLD)

Ivorys — Please Stay — (Despenza)

Bobby Coleman — Pleasure Girl (Bounty WLD)

Blue Sharks — These Things Will Keep Me Loving You — (gran prix)

Bobby Jones — Beware A Stranger (USA Demo)

Five and A Penny — You Don’t Know Where Your Interest Lies (UK Polydor)

NF Porter — Keep On Keeping On — (Lizard WLD)

Magnetics — Lady In Green — (Bonnie)

The Charades — Key To My Happiness — (MGM Demo)

Miss DD Philips — Hey Little Girl — (Evolution Demo)

The Golden Apples of The Sun — The Monkey Time (UK Immediate WLD)

And possibly the finest piece of Soul ever put down to vinyl :-

Moses Smith — The Girl Across The Street — (DION WLD)

If I remember the rest I will put them on later.

Thanks for a great night and moreover all the attendees for their support and their excellent Dancing. - Steve, nice splits dude !!!
