Rang the contact number today and was told this was still on (though we did not get the person’s name) so hope the organisers could confirm this, as we are traveling and stopping over for this one.

It's defo on just spoke with Kev Murphy and he's confirmed it's on with Paul Shirley and myself doing the back room along with Kev, I'm sure Baz Maleedy will confirm who's on in the main room I think it's Baz, Ginger Taylor & Bob Hinsley

absolute confirmation its on!, ginger pulling the strings, back room as normal with kev & guests, richard has curtailed his involvement but it dosnt mean he wont do it from time to time...one thing is for certain,...the quality of the music wont suffer, in fact its going from strength to strength and i'd encourage anybody who's looking for a good night out at a fantastic venue with great dancefloors and hasn't been before to come and give us a try....and to all our regulars, look forward to seeing you on friday!

Must be getting old havent been for 4 years but when i saw kev stood there as i arrived,it only seemed like the month before lol. First time in a long time, sold a few tunes saw some old faces had a good chat and a laugh .Could only really hear the main room tunes from were i was in the record bar, those in there seemed to be enjoying it so job done for ginger and co.Had to leave earlyish so will return next month to sample the back room which is more to my taste and had a very good line up.

Really enjoyed last in the back room some super tunes played by all the DJ,s really top class

Great pity more people could,nt make the effort to support Kev Murphy & Co in the room

brilliant to see mi owd buddy Robbo strutting his stuff on the floor top man.

Hope a few more will make the effort to come next month at the Anniversary ..

well said ian, ditto the comments....nobody needs unecessary confusion being created prior to the event so hopefully, next month will see a goodly amount of appreciative punters showing their support......due to the fact, and as expressed before, its about quality music, expressive and expansive playlists and people's open minds.....thats what the back room is about and no doubt kev murphy is yer best man for motivating the commitment. as it stands last night, i firmly believe, was enjoyed by all....as they always do here...great dancefloor, great atmosphere and everyone who has been turning up of present, has been making the effort to get here early so as not to miss out on anything!. some may be inclined to think its all about bog standard, but i can assure you,...lowton has NEVER been about that...the formats have been changed twice over the past twelve months to accomodate people's tastes, sadly if people wont turn up, then you have to look at alternative means to make a second room a success. yes, it would help if there was a second bar in the back room as many will well remember there used to be.....but that was prior to the new owners taking over and the effects were stripped out, i wouldnt hesitate to suggest that its going to take a considerable sum to replace them and until such a time as they do, everyone is going to have to make the traverse from the main room with drinks. pardon the pun, but thats really small beer when you're looking for a good night out and the chance to socialize and lowton certainly has that in abundance. attendances are certainly NOT bumping along the bottom...considering...and weve all been saying this for years now, such a clausterophobic calender, they are above average...nobody is drawing 400+ soulies like they used to do 10 years ago ( and prestwich, lowton & brighouse DID do that ) but how many venues are STILL worth visiting in the face of competition?, particularly one's that have been relaunched after a period of doubt about their very existance in the face of potential redevelopement?. so, for now the mainroom line up revolves around ginger, bob hinsley, baz maleedy, kev murphy and myself...guests will be announced in due course as has always been the policy, kev in the meantime, still has open house in the back room and im sure the djs featured in there, will rotate frequently. next soul night at THE ROSE LEISURE CENTRE ( LOWTON CIVIC HALL ) is on february 8th AND ITS DEFINITELY ON!....PERIOD!!

before i forget,...a big thanks to all the djs who provided the tunes and to everyone who attended on a bitterly cold night...and to those regulars who come but were stretchered off with that god damn flu virus, hope you're fighting fit for the next installment!.

Just like to say , how friendly everyone is at Lowton ,good crowd ,music was a mixture in the big room , nice to hear some different tunes as well . Second room i found music was good , but it does lack a bit of atmosphere ,maybe the owners need to look at that also , the smell in there was putting people off staying in there .

won't put us off though .
