Blimey !

Well now I'm coming down in a transit van, as my head won't fit in the car any more.

Have a domestic to deal with in Taunton first thing, but if the M5 / M6 behave themselves I should easily make it for the 4-00pm kick off.

Can't wait !

Enjoyed myself last night, thanks as ever for inviting me down TnL! :hatsoff2:

Mr Cunliffe had us in stitches as he invariably does; this week it was tales of a help youself ice cream machine which he duly helped himself to but then couldn't turn off, closely followed by 'Mrs Cunliffe' announcing that "your friend Ronnie Biggs [aka Johnny Beggs] is over there Ian". Pmsl.

Had to leave earlier than intended as I've work today and full-on next week; apols to anyone I missed and didn't get chance to say ta ra to.

Might post a few plays later if I get chance

Cheers

Phil

Thanks to everyone who came to Burscough Legion last night, absolutely top music from all the DJs----ta to the two Petes and Mace for making the long journey up to Burscough and Phil, John, Mick and Nigel for travelling a shorter distance but playing some top tunes nevertheless!  :D

Thanks also to Ann and Lisa for serving up the chip barms which went down a storm once again!  :hatsoff2:

Numbers were a bit short on what we hoped for but the music made up for that----we don't think you would have heard a better selection of tunes anywhere in the country last night so the people who didn't bother turning up were the ones who really missed out.

We're having a bit of a review of DJs for the rest of the year, cutting running costs is now an objective so we'll be changing things around slightly over the coming months.

Next one at the Legion is on Saturday 27th July, I'll post the revised running order up as soon as I've worked it out.

I'll agree with that,we heard a bit of everything last night, big money rareities, storming oldies and some killer R+B and Latin thrown into the mix,oh and not forgetting some inspirational Reggae courtesy of Mr Lyster, nice to meet you Pete,a fellow red as well, can't be bad.

If you weren't there you missed a treat,it was a pleasure to be part of it,playlists are up in the other forum,to give you a flavour of what was on offer.

What a fantastic day, met a few new people, excellent music, from all the djs, and as I always like my food, satisfied with a chip butty, all put together, by a couple of hard working people, with a passion, for music, your hosts, Tony and Lisa, not forgetting the bar staff. I'm going to go on a little bit more now, I don't travel, or go to many other venues, these days, but more of an armchair internet, music lover. Here in Burscough, we are very central for reaching, major cities, spoilt for food eateries, country side, and lastly has always, been part of the soul scene, with attendees, collectors, venues etc. sadly things move on, local people, still enjoy the music, but again, don't venture out, I always look forward to my monthly fix at the legion, time for other previous visitors, to revisit, once again, as I've said, before, Tony and Lisa, keep up the hard work, and as Gary Haines sang, KEEP ON GOING. End of sermon, soulfully yours, Nigel.A. PS, Pete(lyster), pint on the bar, pulled by barstaff, paid for by Tony, and delivered, by yours truly.
