It's actually the end of an era at this nighter as Winston has decided to retire from door work at the end of the year so if any of you won't be coming to the midweek Xmas party it will be your last chance to talk doodas to him and share in his excruciating jokes!

Oh no -- it won't be the same without Winston!!!  :(

We are going early so that I can buy some shoes, but we are also going earlier than the original early we planned on because Dave doesn't know how to buy train tickets on the internet properly...

Guilty as charged. We were supposed to be arriving in London at 6.30, the tickets that arrived are for a train that gets us there for 4.30 !

I swear i booked the right tickets though, it must have been a glitch in the internet that caused it.

I recently bought a dinky little camcorder and am bringing it to the niter. I want to test it out and see what the picture's like in a darkish room. Not sure how long the SD card will last but if anyone objects please let me know and I'll avoid them. I'd like some mementoes of the soul nights I love, this is not a commercial venture for me.

As usual a good night at the 100 Club, with a lot of medium tempo tunes played. With all the regular DJs absent Ady brought in an interesting set of DJs. Funny how you know faces but not names, that was the case last night. I recognised Chris Dale and Charlie Rees, but didn't know their names, now I do.

Butch of course is in Barcelona for Movin' On, but his absence didn't seem to affect the numbers in. A good mix of tunes were played, Roddy Brass played a set predominantly R&B, Chris Dale's first set included favourites like Feminine Ingenuity and Can You Remember. Speed Up was played by Frank Webster and was the first record to get me on the dance floor, good to hear it. Charlie Rees told me he was worried before he went on, or words to that effect, but did a sterling job.

Christina did a set that was mainly Crossover, really enjoyed it, especially when she played These Memories, my favourite record. I know some people want 100mph+ all the time at allnighters but I think many of us like a change of pace during the night. I do hope we get more medium tempo and slower tracks included in the future please. Not too many slowies I hasten to add, just a few.

And not forgetting Ady who played some of his acetates as well as old favourites like Welcome To Dreamsville, Sweet Temptation, Melba Moore, and Carla Thomas.

I did bring my camcorder and went around with it, but I think either the battery run down or I filled the SD card, will investigate later. At lease Dave and Jessica, Gary and Rolly, etc have been immortalised on video, lol. Let's hope it all comes out. But when glitches are sorted out I'll bring it with me again.

As usual it was nice to see so many of my friends there, the mix of music and companionship makes the night for me.

A big thanks to Ady and all concerned for another great night.

We managed two cars of Soul fanatics from Norwich on the night and despite leaving later than planned we still managed a few beers in the Blue Posts before the gig started. There we teamed up with familiar soul friends from around the Green and pleasant Land . It was refreshing to see a good number of regulars turn up even though the usual Dj line up was not on for that night !

Lovely to see Christina on the decks again and a pleasure to share the sets with Ady , the Guys, thanks for the CD Roddy .

I tried a mixed bag on the warm-up session incorperating numbers from Lee Fields and Myron n E as they were touring recently.

As mentioned by Geoff  I dropped the tempo on the tail end of my second set ending with numbers like Celeste Hardy ,  Magicians  then Gerri Hall and then The Out- of- sites.

A good turn out on the night with a positive atmosphere through out.

I really enjoyed the nighter Ady and spinning some numbers with like minded soul fans .

all the best Frank , have a great night on the 19th Dec.

merry Xmas to all.
