This event is now over. Look up now to read the latest reviews of this soul event

Looking forward to our next night at the Alford Hall in Warrington, unfortunately due to a double booking Ian Gee cant make it but we have more than made up for it with former Golden Torch Dj Keith Minshull as our special guest.

January's night was a belter with Brian Rae doing us proud keeping an appreciative crowd active on the dancefloor all night.

Unfortunately I wont be DJing at this one (some may say thank god) as I will be just out of hospital with a new knee but my old mate Peter Cogley (Cog)has kindly stepped in for me.

I will of course still be there on my crutches so look forward to seeing some of you there.

Biff

You seem to be having these birthdays with alarming regularity old timer!

Happy to act as nominated driver for you John.

Really looking forward to Saturday and the minor tweaks to the music policy we made last time really did ignite that dancefloor and reaction and feedback from those that attended was extremely positive.

If you can come and join us we'd be delighted to see you.  If you've never been before you'll love it...I promise you (and as a salesman I'd never, ever lie to you...honest).

Go on...you know you want to.

Hi Folks,

Just a quick note to thank you all for your support last night...and what a night it was!

We had thought the weather might be a factor and it would have been understandable if people had been put-off from venturing out.  However, the God of Snow's very best efforts couldn't ruin a great night so it's a huge 'thank you' to everyone for braving the arctic-like conditions (and respect to the hardy souls who were smoking outside in just short sleeved shirts - they breed 'em hardy in Warrington and Widnes).

The minor tweaks to the format of the evening and the music policy that we introduced in January really do seem to have hit-the-spot as the positive comments seem to suggest.  With these comments in mind, we'll be keeping with the new format going forward which will see me playing some of my perhaps less well known tunes early doors with Moz and Biff alternating the warm up slot and the final hour slot around our guest DJ.

Speaking of guest DJ's, we owe a massive thanks to Keith Minshull for travelling from Stoke as I heard the Midlands had had some of the worst of the weather.  Keith's choice in records along with the classics he pulled out was sublime and the full floor for almost all of Keith's spot was testament to his ability to gauge the mood of the audience and the demands of the dancers.

The unwavering support of all our regulars is greatly appreciated, so thank you.  If you were one of the many new faces this time around then please come back if you can and you'll continue to be made very welcome.

Thanks for your positive comments via SS and also to those who've texted me this morning with their 'thumbs-up' of last night.

We'll be back at the Alford Hall on Saturday 25th May with Dolly as our guest DJ, so we hope to see you then.

hi Chris couldn't agree with you more what a fab night numbers were well up and Keith minshull did us proud and the night just had a feel good factor about it from start to finish, the dancers enjoyed quality records all night with loads of request coming in later on, it was good to see Simon and Mandy from stoke looking forward to seeing them in Scarborough next weekend where Simon is dj'ing and there were some new faces in too, for me one of the best nights we've had thank's to everyone who braved the weather and made the night what it was ktf moz & cheryl

Can I add my thanks to Moz and Chris's, last night was one of the best nights we have had.

The dancefloor was very busy from around 8:30 onward.

Musically I hope we played a bit of something for everyone, as we always say and we really mean it if we have the record with us we will defineatly play it. if we dont have it with us but we have it at home we guarantee it will be with us the next night.

Thanks for everyone who braved the elements it certainly was a cold night outside and for Keith Minshull for making the trip up from Stoke.

As Chris said the next one is on Saturday 25th May with Dolly from Bolton as our guest DJ, this should another belting night Dolly has got some great tunes and plays to the dancefloor.

Hope to see some of you then if not before

Biff

With the exception of Wade Flemmons - That Other Place, that I promised to play for Ralph.  It was in my box and I blame Moz entirely for neglecting to remind me to leave it out for him to play in his set (honestly Ralph, I think Moz is getting a little absent minded in his old age).

It will be with me next time Ralph, and I'm sure that we'll squeeze it in near the 'enders'.

As I say...blame Moz, it's all his fault (do I sound convincing?)
