Bewleys is closest hotel mate, or get on Laterooms and check out city centre hotels, all reasonable price and only a 4wuid taxi ride. There's a premier inn near Elland road which would also be £4 ish taxi ride

Unfortunately, Marc was unable to make his flight today and despite us both desperately trying to sort him out on a flight tomorrow, it wasn't to be. HOWEVER, he has been rescheduled to play in August. It's still gonna be an absolute barn stormer of a night with a quality line up.

Great night lads, good venue, good people in attendance, great DJ's.

Always a worry when you've gotta keep re-introducing new venues, just when you think you've settled and your followers have fully become accustom to the venue, found their regular spots to sit/stand, but this has plenty to offer. Nice little bar, social space, dedicated dance floor and is basically an exact replica  of where Matt Fox does his Hip City BUT you've got a wooden dance floor too!!!

It was nice to see people geting up and on it too - from the allnigher we did at MESW#2 there was an issue with the venue (for some) because the dancefloor was sunken into the ground, by all of 5/6 inches, like something you had to just step down on to, and a number of punters wouldn't go because they felt exposed by the others, standing slightly above and watching ...which was total nonsense - if you wanna dance, dance. Its not a comp, we all dance differently, and thats one of the driving forces of being there - to have a boogie to great DJ's.

I hope it works out for you, and as you know, i'm a big fan of anything that isn't in a working mans club - pub function rooms, dance studios, city centre bars, church halls, car-parks, supermarkets or beaches, anything but a working mans club - and you've got parking.

Nice to see some good friends too - worth the trip over, even though I had to cut it short!
Best of luck with future events!

G

First time for me but it won't be the last...

Great crowd with a good mix of ages and people who want to hear something a bit more than the same old same old.

All the DJs played some outstanding stuff.

Fantastic venue real good feel, you don't need polished maple flooring, the old proper cool clubs didn't have it.The dance floor was busy all right.

This sort of venue appeals to the younger end who don't want to be seen in social clubs, big civic halls or ballrooms.

Well I think you can safely say the first event at your new venue was a success.  -:)

Love the new venue and the sound system was spot on.

As already been said great people in attendance and a superb mix of sounds.

It was banging all night and great to catch up with friends I haven't seen recently.

Hope this is your final venue for Driving Beat as it has it all for me.

Best

Absolutely brilliant night on Saturday.  Great venue, friendly staff, heaps of people, and absolutely top quality music.

When's the next one? Still running third Satuday of every other month?  Hope so, as 17 August is the day we get back from holiday, so won't miss it.

Great night.!!

Good balance of music, something for all tastes, but in no way ATB.LOL.Like the venue, quite an industrial feel.

Had a real buzz to the whole night, something that's lacking of late. Some real shape throwing going on,on the dancefloors.

How did i miss the record bar in the back.? Were you all hiding.?? By the time i'd found it,i was too weary to look.! Sorry Adam and Matt.

Nice to meet up with the friendliest folks on the scene,....and Fudge lol.

Keep the fire burning Azza .(10/10).

Had a thoroughly enjoyable night. Even our lass who,s normally ms unsociable ,chatted away to complete strangers to her at least. Some of whom might even be dog owners(but thats another story), Spot of the night for me was Greg Belson, not just for playing Martha Bass for for what he followed it with which kept me busy for half an hour or so.A great little venue and the nicest people you could imagine. Cheers A.

Fantastic night, great venue, lovely bar staff, great little side room for chilling out.

Awesome music all night, Greg and Adam played some extremely funked up funk....I loved it :)

Well done Azza & Co, you've found a fantastic venue......easy to find and out of the way of the busy city centre.

Just returned from an awesome extended weekend with the Leeds glitterati that is the That Driving Beat crew.....thanks so much to Azza for letting me share the turntables with some of the scenes most forward thinking DJ's. Barn storming sets from all those on the roster and I was more than honoured to be involved with the relaunch of this top notch night at this excellent new venue.

Great session, and I'll throw up my setlist if anyone wants to check it.....cheers!

Absolutely loved it!!

Perfect venue, plenty of car parking, great staff, lovely doormen especially when they asked me for I.D :D  (I quickly pointed at my crow's feet & said that's all the I.D you need.... they didn't argue  )

What a great turnout !!

Phenomenal sound system guys!!

Loved all the deejays (Guests & Residents),it was my first time of hearing Greg, and oh my gosh did he leave an impression ... almost burst my ruddy ear drums with some of the deep powerful tracks he spun!   My man of the match goes to Mace for adding a touch of Latin to the night & taking me back to my teenage Mod days.

Superb night ....... I'm running out of adjectives, so here's some photo's ..... I'll also put them on Fake Book in the next few days. (The dance-floor photo's are from 1.00 am onwards as it was too busy early on to be snapping away)

Much love

Great pictures Alison.  Glad you didn't get any of me snoozing on that comfy sofa in the record room :-)

There certainly were some posey people there - who wins the prize though?  Eddie with his Freddie Parrot Faced Davies impressions, or Mr Evans, giving us his best Blue Steel/Magnum*?

Leeds is now the proud owner of the best two soul nights out there - Bottles and Beat - in my oh so very humble opinion.
