I'm  travelling with Paul and Helen, first visit to Weston since I don't know when. Looking forward to hearing a wide variety of music, but all under the Northern Soul banner.

big thanx to all who turned up for martins last GTAH of the year..the busiest for the 2 years weve been doing it...great atmosphere with a busy dancefloor right to the last tune..infact we could have gone on a long longer if allowed..people from all over the south west, south wales, south coast and gloucester

its been a tuff year for martin both personally and promoter wise so really pleased for him...he had 120 wrist bands and ran out :-)

My first visit to Weston-Super-Mare since I don't know when. The council had obviously spent money on new paving, etc, looked pretty nice imo. Stayed at the Grand Atlantic Hotel, Helen got us a good deal. The room where the soul night took place was really good, dance floor excellent, no one really needed to use talc, it was slidey enough.

Although the majority of the tunes played were classic oldies, the DJs veered away from the top 100 in most cases, some were played but it wasn't predictable. Paul played a nice mix, good to hear and dance to Gary Dean's You Can Say among others. although I missed Surprise as I was sitting and chatting. The dance floor was busy all evening, with an enthusiastic crowd.

It was good to see Kev and Rachel, not seen them for a while. I know Martin's worked hard on this night and I'm glad that the attendance was good, I hope it continues that way. If it wasn't so far from London I'd make it a night that I'd regularly go to.

Thanks to Paul and Helen for the lift there and back and for their hospitality. And thanks to Martin and the DJs for entertaining us with good music.
