Just over a week now until our next Majestic Soul. Mark Gurney is a longstanding soul fan who i remember from the late 80s early 90s London soul scene as well as the Fleetwood/Southport weekenders and will bring a different flavour to our regular night. Geoff Green is a regular of ours and travels up and down the country attending various rare soul events. Should be a top night, just before Cleethopres weekender with Bettye Swan.

Cannot wait for "Majestic" this month after being away during last months event.
No Binsy this month as he is away in the USA gambling away his "record money" !!
So this month we have two guests joining myself and Brian. First up is one of the scene`s nice guys Geoff Green. Geoff has a great ear for a tune and collects and plays records he likes irrespective of price, rarity known or unknown.. So expected a top quality balanced set of tunes from him.

Also spinning for us and making his "Majestic" debut is Mark Gurney. I have known Mark for well over 20 years and from those days up and until now he is constantly on the look out for new tunes to discover and play. I look forward to seeing him add his own style to our night.
All this plus our regular selection of Majestic Soul favourites and of course a few new purchases/plays to keep our hardcore happy.

Must also mention the Early Bird catches a tune!!!

We continue into June with an early session of reggaegonesoul between 5 - 6.30pm introducing Colin Brown to the fold along with Mr Biggs who also throw in the odd 'well underplayed' soul track...lots of fun there!

Mark Gurney got tunes too...the seahorses will be on your dancefloor Mark...give em a good twirl

As for me this month im Just trying to locate a few discosoul tracks to get the sun inn..then still crazy bout chicago & requests for a few 70's New York sounds from a certain corner...beta get it sorted !!

No posing Mark H.....:)

Thanks to the Majestic guys for asking me to play. I was a bit nervous but loved playing some of my favourite tunes to an appreciative audience. Apologies to Mark Gurney as I had to leave shortly after my set as I'm off to Cleethorpes very soon and had stuff to do when I got home.

I'll post my playiist when I get back from Cleggy.

Thanks to our guest dj's for delivering quality at this event..

First off with Geoff at 8.30pm who had the floor going early on! Seahorses were happy & your selection of tunes built up to a climax...Loved your inclusion of some of your Northern Oldies with the Cross-over and Ballads were tremendous...good to see Eileen also.. I would be nervous to play the Arthur Prysock but....you know what ...it worked....so well done !

Our Second guest Mark Gurney's kept the floor going with a selection of 80's sounding discosoul....quite far from the 'same old s**t in a different order'...and therefore unique & dynamic...something essential for those who like dance music...

Happy skating at cleethorpes folks...!!
