Good call Kev -seems Whitby is an earlier adv sellout each year and not surprisingly when quality counts both event and location.

Great news for all those who missed out with the advance sell out coming so early & weekender for £10 !!!! albeit excluding the Pavillion , though the 'Met Bar' is a wonderful Victorian ballroom , wooden dance floor etc ., Originally part of the Metropolitan Hotel and retained when the rest of this imposing building was converted into apartments. With Sean Tasker , Dick Krop etc spinning the vinyl there's going to be some great stuff played for sure there and at the Rifle Club

For a bite to eat in Harrogate during the day recommend 'fodder' behind the showground. There's also a vinyl record outlet above 'space' - nice vintage stuff , both worth a look. Catch up on Friday in sunny Whitby.

Great weekend at the Whitby Soul Experience spread over 3 venues —The Pavilion, the Met Bar Ballroom and Rifle Club.

Fab vibe throughout and well done all. Nice to see the big screens with cameras to the decks for ovo .

Always rather special as an opportunity to catch up with so many great , friendly and knowledgeable soulies from the length and breadth of the UK and judging by the accents,  a fair few from the continent . Musically great with something for everybody with a special mention to John & Julie H hosting the Market Place sessions , Terry & Flo Finn who curated the Met Bar Ballroom and Gary Smith , the Rifle Club and of course Kev and Snowy and their impressive band of helpers and support teams.

Only managed to venture over to The Rifle Club once with so much happening elsewhere . Mighty impressive, catching inspirational & sublime sets from Mark Etheridge and Steve Manion .

Bought a few records, sold a couple.

Record of the weekend for me ? Richard Darbyshire ’this I swear ‘ spun by Mick Perrins in the Market place.

Wonderful hotel, found a new gem of a place to eat and the chance to do it all over again in September with the added bonus of Pat Lewis live.

As for next year’s weekender, understand heading for an even earlier, 4 months in advance, sell out than this year.  http://www.goldsoul.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=52

Just about recovered from the Whitby Soul Weekend.  Had a great time meeting up with friends old and new and enjoying their company whilst listening to some fabulous sounds.  Many thanks to all the promoters for another well organised event - Whitby never fails to deliver on all fronts. The highlight of the weekend for us was Sunday 5.55pm in the Market Place.  YOCKY, having played a lovely set, finished off with his all time favourite record - LOUIS ARMSTRONG - WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD.  Everyone in the Market Place swaying along brought tears to Yocky's eyes (and a few others!).  You had to be there, brilliant. Yocky, we love ya to bits.
