A wonderful gesture by yourself and all the DJ's, let's fill the house and raise as much as possible for the family. I know nothing can replace the loss of a loved one but a large crowd will not only help financially, but let these marvelous brave people know in what high regard they are held and respected by us all......

Was an absolutely TOP day in a superb cellar venue where the heady soul atmosphere moved the dancers on at a fine bouncing  pace. Bathed in an ethereal darkness -- It's a soul home 'Par excellence with the place buzzing and over 300 soul friends meeting and dancing EVEN though two hours earlier nobody new if or where it would be on.'

To cap it all a minutes silence for the loss  of one of our brave firemen was respectfully adhered to along with the promise by Pete that a full Super Sunday soul session would be put on and ALL the takings from that day would go to the Firemans family ---- A wonderful gesture well recieved at the firestation and by his colleagues - but then again, We Soul people do that sort of thing !!!!!!!!

Hi All

Had lots of emails and phone calls at home asking if Alter Ego is now going to be the new home of the Twisted Wheel Club? Yes it is, due to the fire at NQ live and what a fantastic 60's Basement Club it is.... You will love it!

The other Question- Will the New Club still be going ahead on the same Wheel Dates? NO due to the Club being booked on the Friday Night!... The only Friday Night we have got is Friday 30th of August to celebrate the "50th Anniversary of The Twisted Wheel Club" 9pm till 4am.

THE NEW DATES AFTER THAT, WILL BE SUNDAY AFTERNOON SOUL SESSIONS ONLY!  WHICH IS WHAT EVERYBODY WANTS AND WAS APPLAUDED BY EVERYBODY WHO WERE AT THE CLUB ON SUNDAY.

They will briefly be put up for Auction at the Wheel on Sunday afternoon to see if anyone wishes to bid more money than the winning bid on the sites, just to get everyone interested here are the items for Auction.......

It's occasions like this when true Soulies show how they care, some fantastic gestures by so many, particularly on FB. Nothing can begin to replace the loss of a husband and father, but it's nice for them to know what high regard the Fire fighter Stephen Hunt was held in......

I have been told that even the Greene King Brewery are sending me (2) Twisted Wheel hand Pump clips and have only had 40 made, and a case or even two case's of Twisted Wheel Bottled Beer, how fantastic is that, and they are not even in Manchester! And I have also been told that the CO - OP is sending something!!

What a fantastic afternoon, that club is awesome, full of character a fantastic new home for the Twisted Wheel...... Down to the business of the day. I would like to congratulate Pete Roberts, all of the DJ's, all of the people who gave prizes, those who made donations and everyone who attended making it a fantastic day raising money for, and just letting the family know that people do care about the tragic loss of a young firefighters life. It was quite humbling to be a part of such generosity and recognition of the families sad loss..... WELL DONE EVERYONE

Yesterday was a fantastic day All the DJs played fantastic sets and with both rooms buzzing it was so difficult to decide which room to stay in

Like Mike says everyone needs congratulating for the time and effort they put into organising yesterdays event and sourcing the fantstic soul prizes which raised funds for Stephen Hunts memorial fund

Everyone I spoke to (And that was a lot) had nothing but good to say about the new venue, Alterego and it is easy to see why

Pete Roberts plus Carl and Sue deserve congratulating for ensuring the survival of The Wheel

See you all soon and thanks again for a great day

People Top Notch! Great Atmosphere!  Love the new venue but the second room really does it for me.  Again a massive well done to Pete and Team. Sean Chapman.

RIGHT..... This is an occasion to get a stiff drink in hand, just had a very quick chat with Pete as he has some unavoidable commitments (he will post as soon as he can), with the monies pledged the grand total raised yesterday will just be over £3,000:00 !!!!!!!! What an amazing sum of money raised in such a short space of time (this may have been a little higher still as some never traveled in fear of not getting in). This wonderful donation will not in my opinion only offer financial help to the family but will let them know just how valued their brave Father and Husband was by the community. An amazing effort by everyone concerned...... AMAZING

Had an amazing time the venue really does mirror Whitworth street , we arrived and past by the old wheel it was such a sad moment to see a pile of bricks where a big part of Manchesters soul history had once been.

We then went in Monroes which was not as packed as anticipated but then people had gone down to the new venue to ensure they got in. We had a drink then got ourselves together and walked up to the new venue .

The first thing that hit you was not being able to see, it was just like the old wheel, brick walls , the odd chain on the wall and arches and alcoves ... it felt like home , and then when I was given my piece of pork pie from Steve Scott well that put the stamp on the letter !

Well done to all that got this no home situation turned around to enable the club torise from the ashes of NQ live in such double quick time.

Well done to all that contributed to raising a great sum of money for the family of the fireman that sadly lost his life.

I am sure the club will regain some of the loss of losing Whitworth street in this new move. Nige was saying it would be nice to name that second room the Stephen Hunt room then he will always be remembered in the Wheels history.

As promised, here is the receipt from The Fire Service Headquarters for £3038.00 which was raised on Sunday afternoon 28th July.

The Fire Service were 'most humbled' by the generosity of the Twisted Wheel Club and Carl Johnson's donation of £500 from the NQ LIVE club on Tib St where, sadly, Stephen Hunt lost his life trying to save the building on Saturday 13th July 2013.

Thanking you all once again for your tremendous efforts.

What a fantastic day for a very worthy cause. The DJs dug deep to play the best of the Wheel sounds plus, the cream of the crop in the way of records from The Torch, Crew, The Cats & The Pendulum. Well done to all involved. The basement club was ideal for the music played in the mid to late 60s an early 70s and the crowd just loved the setting in which the great sounds were played.

Best Wishes for future events at this club.

Truly a great afternoon,

Fantastic atmosphere, very reminiscent of Whitworth St, and with over £3000 raised for the dependants of Stephen Hunt - AMAZING!

I'd like to add my appreciation to the commitment of Pete Roberts, all the DJs, bar staff, club owners and all the Soulies who attended the Sunday charity event for making it so very special ...
