CROSSFIRE ALLNIGHTER Details

CROSSFIRE started back in 2001 bringing together all the different elements of the London 60s scene for a big night of pure vintage underground partying. This 1000 capacity venue in the heart of Central London home to Le Beat Bespoké, Nutty New Year and New Untouchables live promotions has three rooms of action with an all night bar!

NORTHERN SOUL music has reached a whole new audience through the film ‘Soul Boy’ and you can emulate those dance moves on the huge wooden dance floor in our fabulous Ballroom to a soundtrack of the best Northern Soul oldies in the true all-nighter tradition from historic venues of the past. Hosted by Kent Records and 6Ts promoter and DJ Ady Croasdell, expect to hear top jocks from the London soul scene past and present including Irish Greg, Dawn & Nick Brown, Val Palmer and Jo Wallace joining Harboro Horace playing the best Northern Soul classics.

The R&B ROOM is hosted by London promoters the New Untouchables with authentic Rhythm and Blues, Ska/Reggae and Club Soul on the menu from resident DJ Rob Bailey and special guests from top European R&B club joints including Roger Banks, Dave Edwards, Scott Fraser Simpson and Kris Tebbutt.

The BEAT BASEMENT is hosted by the successful Mousetrap all-nighters in Finsbury Park. Resident DJ Dr Robert (Le Beat Bespoke) and Rhys Webb & Coffin Joe (Horrors) + 2 Pete's (Perfumed Garden- Derby) spin the primest 60’s Beat, Garage, Psych committed to vinyl. Expect maximum fun, gorgeous go-go girls to a backdrop of kaleidoscopic visuals and the best live acts.

LIVE at 10.30pm in the Beat room are the ever so good AARDVARKS, hailing from just up the road in West London. You can expect to hear all your fave raves from their debut EP, Bargain Day album and all the brilliant singles alongside some choice covers from The Who, Tomorrow, Ruperts People and Wimple Winch.

Is the main room northern classics and oldies OR as Ady somtimes puts it..." London" northern classics and oldies?

Hi Pete,

It's the latter, the Easter one is the Wigan type oldies and this one is a combination of the two so that some of the big records of the last 34 years down here can get an airing.

Cheers

Ady

I don't remember the last time I posted on look backs but this so deserves it. Best Crossfire I've been to in a long while. Busy,  great atmosphere, great variety of tunes and still busy when the lights went up. Really ticked every box for us lot. Thanks Ady, Rob and co

What a nite! People really made an effort, DJs went the extra distance and Ady kept everyone dancing to the very last drop. Totally rinsed it. My mate said ' Its like watchin a copy of Razzle come to life' not sure what he meant by that but it cant be a bad thing? BTW Billy you do know you loose top end registration in your hearing as you get older.

Bit of a pain to get home from @ 4am which is all I seem to be able to do these days (so didn't go) so some London oldies playlists would be good to see (Capitol Soul Club, Scenesville etc)

Bloody marvelous. Thanks to all the many soul people who made it. There were quite a few London regulars missing too which shows what a thriving scene it is down here. The music was great throughout and the short spots all the DJs did really kept us and the crowd on their toes.

Orf the top of my head I heard / played Spencer Wiggins 'Talk', 'Magic Touch', Lorraine Chandler 'You Only Live Twice', Luther Ingram, Harvey Averne, 'Use It Before You Lose It', Danny Moore, 'What's With This Loneliness', Clyde Mc Phatter 'Lonely People', Pic & Bill 'What Does It Take', Julian Covey, Ringleaders, September Jones 'Voodoo Madamoiselle', Les Watson on Pompeii, Charades, Spellbinders, Roger Hatcher, Magicians 'Love & Understanding', 'Dreamsville', 'Peanut Duck', 'Tune Up', 'Helpless', and loads more. In general it was me playing the bleedin' obvious.
