I've now looked at train times properly. It appears that Virgin trains are not running any trains AT ALL on the Sunday out of London. This is because they are improving the service !!!!!!!!

I've looked at doing the journey all sorts of different ways, but unless I want to spend in excess of £80 on tickets for the two of us I can't find a way of doing it, so I'm afraid we won't be down in London this Saturday night.

have fun

Hard luck Dave, bloomin' train companies. Have a great birthday wherever you wash up.

I'm struggling to find something new to say about the 100 Club. Every month it comes up with the goods and leaves its clientèle satisfied. Last night was no exception: a good selection of DJs playing a good selection of soul music, mainly uptempo Northern but not entirely.

The three guest DJs were Warren, Yann Vatiste and Callum Simpson and all displayed different aspects of our music.

Warren included some R&B and also some of his signature Latin sounds including a good version of Wade In The Water, he told me who it was by but I've forgotten, so perhaps he'd reply to this post.

Yann included Buddy Smith's When You Lose The One You Love in his first set, pretty brave to slow things down but it worked. In that set he also played Pee Wee Shucks & Huey's Beside Myself (You're All I've Got), one of my favourites, second weekend I've heard it played. In his second set he included some of his “big” sounds: Joe Jama, Papa Bear, Betty Wilson and others.

Callum played quite a lot of tunes I didn't either know or recognise but danced to Johnny McCall's I Need You and in his second set he included the Sacred Four's Somebody's Watching You. I can't remember if it was him or Keith who played Rudy Love's Suffering Wrath, no doubt someone will correct me.

All three guests kept the floor busy.

That leaves Keith Money and Ady. Again not much to say, great sets. Thanks to Ady for playing Nancy Wilcox and also the Demures in the last 30 minutes. I do hope both can get legitimate issue, really do it for me. Keith kindly played Ask My Heart, a tune I never tire of.

As at Lifeline last week time seemed to fly by, the sign of a good night. There weren't so many people in as the last one, but still a good number. And very enthusiastic on the dance floor. That seemed to get a bit sticky towards the end but I still managed to shuffle around to Baby I Need Your Loving.

As usual there were loads of my friends there, great to see you all. Spoke to so many people, hope I wasn't too boring. Danced to quite a few records, didn't get “danced out” as sometimes happens.

Once again thanks to Ady, the DJs and the 100 Club staff, please just keep on doing what you've been doing.

I can only echo what Geoff said. What-a-fantastic-night!

We got there about Midnight and it only seemed half full which worried me a little. Within the hour there was plenty there but a lot of regulars missing (no doubt to Euston being closed today!) No record dealers at all for the first time that I can remember. Great to have chats with friends that I hadn't seen in a while though.

However, the dance floor was pretty much busy for the whole night. Everyone was in high spirits (no Geoff you weren't boring!) and the music...well. I would go as far as to say it was nigh on perfect, for my tastes anyway. A real touch of everything if I recall correctly.

Thanks to Warren for playing Bobby Valentin-Use it before you lose it, Callum for The Parisians-Twinkle Little Star and to Keith for Del Lars-Job opening.

Although I danced more than I have in ages ( a good sign that the DJs are doing the business imo) my Gold sticker goes to Keith for his second spot. Keeping the dance floor busy at 5am can be a challenge but you rose to it magnificently! :)

Thanks very much to Ady and the team who keep it all going!

Most enjoyable, numbers down but still a full dancefloor at 6am. I enjoyed all the sets particularly the second half ones when I'd gone through "the wall". One chap hadn't been down since '89 and I said he probably wouldn't know many of the sounds and he said that was the best part about it and he'd be back for more. Thanks very much to the DJs, staff and enthusiastic dancers who, let's face it ,make the night happen. Ady
