Hi All

Just over a week to go until our first event of 2015, for this coming year we have added two new residents, as a result of the fantastic feed back we received on his previous guest spots Dick Crop will join the guys in the main hall and will definitely add to the line up with his quality tuneage.

The legend that is 'Brian 45 Phillips' will be joining the line up in the second room and this is a massive honour for NCS to have Brian on board, as anyone who knows their rare soul history of the North West will know this fella was one of the trail blazers in the early days. This months guests are Steve Wilde who ran the events at King Georges Hall Blackburn back in the day and now runs the very successful 'Heaven In The Afternoon' events at The Grand in Clitheroe.

Our second guest is Mark 'Fluff' Freeman from Nuneaton Co-Op allnighters and soul nights, Fluff spends most of his night on the dance floor, so he knows what a dancer wants.

Last but not least we are pleased to have a young soul guesting, Tom Page has been learning his craft at the Rugby Allniters and comes from very good soul stock, even though his auld fella is now into that there modern.

We hope we have put together a line up that will cater to all tastes across the three rooms and look forward to seeing you all come the 31st.

New Century Soul Radcliffe Manchester Allnighter Saturday January 31st this is a well and truly established Allnighter in a superb venue, I am going to smack the negative head on and get it out of the way so here goes. Radcliffe a while ago was absolutely a must for any Allnighter fan it ticked all of the boxes offering three rooms of Soul where you could enjoy just about every genre within the soulful spectrum then something changed and the dynamic of this wonderful Allnighter shifted and something was lost and this manifested in numbers falling, no doubt there will have been other factors to consider such as the economics of the recession and additional Allnighters appearing on the events calendar.

So where is Radcliffe now in the great scheme of things? Well the first thing I wish to say is that Radcliffe is on the up! That buzz is back, the numbers can do to be a little higher but you can sense that there is a real will and drive to make this Allnighter work, you have to give credit to Chris and Marcelle for their shear drive and determination along with the Radcliffe team who on Saturday night provided a stunning line up of DJ’s with a completely awesome selection of music, three rooms of quality and three rooms of choice and it is here that makes Radcliffe dare I say an up and coming Allnighter, that sounds strange but there is a kind of skip in the pace of this Allnighter and I am blown away by this real and tangible effort.

The hardest thing I had to do was to plan out who I was going to hear spinning in what room! That is a great place to be, I have missed it and now it is back!

From 9pm till 7am you had the opportunity to dance to whatever fired your rocket, the Modern Room is back with a vengeance, thank goodness! Room Two gave way to dancers and chin strokers, there was rare and underplayed gems, Soul Sam giving it large, Matt Sneath blowing my socks off yet again, Andrew Dyson smashing it in a friendly, fun, and danceable arena that welcomes those passing through and this is what many chose to do, it was awesome to wander from room to room sampling the  soul SmörgÃ¥sbord.

In the Main Hall it was comforting and inspiring to see the legends alongside the new, Roger Banks, Bob Hinsley, Andy Garside, Gibby, Mark Freeman  and youngster Tom Page all giving excellent accounts of themselves without dumbing down or playing safe.

My top tip for 2015 is Radcliffe, it is again on the accent, let’s get it on!
