just incase there's any confusion, i'll make it clear....it's 8pm - 4am, with bar til 3am......all for the utterly ridiculously cheap price of £6!....great line-up of dj's with a fantastic selection of tunes right across the board...something for everyone then!

just 2 WEEKS to go and we're winding up for what will be a superior night of undiluted quality northern soul with a colourful dash of top notch 70's crossover...and a dancefloor that is just itching for the sound and feel of leather souls, appreciatively pounding it!!...minus talc. there just ain't nobody giving a session like this at a bargain price of just 6 pounds and a line-up of proper djs with an ear for what the punters want..that's why LOWTON is what it is & does what it does!!...

Edciie Bo just landed on the carpet, thanks to the Ratcliffe nighter boys, Hoss and Andre for the tip. Can't wait to give it a spin on the 14th.

Looks like Gingers been buying again, mind you Les H cant be far behind for pouncing on some great tunes recently......add that to some of the boxes behind the decks at Lowton and I'd say bases are well covered........

Amazing line-up of guests, dean mitchell, paul shirley, robbo, les harrison, andy garside & ian cunliffe.......the last of whom is looking for the bumps so he'd better keep is eyes peeled for an ambush!!...oh, and yes, rooms at the local coach houses are flying out...could be a spot of crowd control in order.....

only 5 days to go and really looking forward to this reunion & anniversary special....making sure the camera & camcorder are packed and hopefully a good many other soulies will have theirs as well to record then event. off up to  tod beforehand to pay a visit to young timothy at t'mill then cousin tony's for tea and finally a quick dash down the east lancs, wash n' brush up at hotel, then it's all systems go!!...just a reminder, nice n' early if you can, plenty of parking, no worries there but seating and dancefloor space may well be in short supply...this is gonna be an absolutely belting session from start to finish!.

good to see people takin' the advice to stopover and all the local motels are within 5 mins of venue....as always if you book a couple of months in advance you can save upwards of £25-£35 on room savers...that's the only thing, prices tend to yo-yo. already looking at rooms for prestwich in may, 2 travelodges & as premier in for that one. tart the front entrance up a bit as well with a few valentines decorations and a supply of sweeties...we do try to make people feel welcome & comfortable!!...dealers...there will be tables for you if you are planning to come.

Gotta say a BIG, BIG THANK YOU to all the people who made it down to the 'Home Of Soul' last night. The buzz was good and the turnout was great! many said it was just like the old days!!

Thanks to all the DJ's who did great sets one and all, (i'll post a selection of top 5's in 'playlists' later to give those you couldn't make it a flavour of the night) there really was something for everyone......Moment of the night for me......seeing the dancefloor FULL for the last record and thinking where else but Lowton would you have a packed floor to the Magnetics as the last record....MAGIC!

Hi Baz,

Just for other peoples info, track two is Calvin Grason, Love Just Begun on mine Baz, not Curly Moore.

Great CD, been blasting it out all day, oh yes, am lovin that horn section on the Jesse Johnson and the Moses Dillard is just sublime.

just a wonderful event, a totally brilliant night, an amazing turnout for this anniversary celebration and a valentine's done completely the northern soul way...100% true to it's name....dancefloors don't come much better than the one at LOWTON CIVIC and to see it full was a joy to behold...every man jack enjoying theirselves and even the discs that weren't familiar, got a good reception. a truly big hand to all of the djs who took part...some serious money, not only on view but on the turntables. love the fact we had so many travellers and new faces in the building...that shows the message is spreading. we currently are only operating the one room and there is a consensus of opinion that it would be great to start doing that again....if organization allows we may see that happen before the end of the year, but there's plenty of time to sort that yet. hope you all enjoyed the free cd, and for everyone who didnt get one, thanks for providing your emails, we will get back to you in due course...just to let those who couldnt make it know, that there are still xmas cds to be collected so expect an email off barry with regards that. come the pre-EASTER eggstra special eggstravaganza on APRIL 11th, we should also have the personal passes available with which you will get a discount on admission....line-up for this event, flyers and jpeg details will be up on here a.s.a.p. we tried to make it a little more representative of valentine's with some impromptu decorations...we hope you liked that touch...but above all, an absolutely huge thankyou for showing your support and solidarity for a magnificent venue that truly defies the odds and threatens the biggest revival of recent years and long may LOWTON CIVIC endure! ktf, the agent
