Bletsoe Reunion Details

The reunion for one of the best events of all time! Only 250 tickets will be available for this night. Strictly no admission on the night. This event is a one off, in the middle of nowhere in a big stone barn with a concrete floor and hay bales for seating! There will be on site camping, food, and licenced bar. (We have a bit of leeway to carry on after 2.00 0'clock if anyone has the energy.).

Glenn Belamy, Gibby, Dennis Taylor, Steve Brown and guests will be spinning the tunes.

Tickets are available from Glenn, Gibby or myself priced at £7.

A donation will be given to the village as a thank you for putting up with us!

This event is now over. Look up now to read the latest reviews of this soul event

Considering this event was only launched on Friday we have less than 200 tickets as of today. Interest has been staggering and there is a great facebook page, well worth looking at.

Latest!!! I have around 40 tickets left but I believe Glenn, Gibby, and Steve at S & R in Wellingborough have a few between them (around 20 I think). We have located plenty of tables and chairs and we are about to convert an old scruffy barn into 'Bletsoe' for the night. Plenty of chat and banter on Facebook. Glenn has taken a great deal of time to post a huge list of tunes that were played there. Many of which are still big spins today. It is amazing how many discoveries were made at that old barn. Just search for Bletsoe All nighter and you will find the group page. Perhaps Mr Smiley can post up a link. Kev Berry has also joined the DJ line up on the night and for anyone booking a Taxi, no way will it finish at 2am. Expect at least another hour.

There will be plenty of parking in the paddock as well as a camping area if you want to bring a camper or pitch a tent. Mark who owns the farm will be firing up the barbie in the morning for bacon rolls and tea. During the night burgers and hot dogs will be available in the yard and full bar inside the barn. Lots of hard work to do for the next couple of weeks for me. It will be handy if the weather is kind on the night but I'm sure it will be a great night whatever.

Good luck with it Steve. I wish I could be there but I've got Cleggy on. I would have loved to have relived those brilliant nights; though without the bombers out of necessity.

Thanks Ady. I know from Glenn that you have a special interest in this project. Good luck at Cleggy. I understand Mr Manship is coming along. It certainly will be one to remember given the venue.

Quick ticket update. There are just a handful of tickets left. I have 7, Gibby and Glenn have around the same so don't leave it if you want some. No admission on the night!

Any tickets left will be on sale at Kettering Athletic Club on Friday. Looking forward to spinning a few tunes for my good friends Karl and Marco. Always a great night! Well worth a visit.

A brave project that certainly paid off Steve. Didn't go to Bletsoe (too young) but a very appreciative audience and was hard to believe some were on the floor all night . Cracking do !

Thanks for the positive comments guys. There is a fantastic page on Facebook under 'Bletsoe All Nighter' with all the photos and comments on the night. I have never experienced anything quite like it. Awesome!

I was a little bit to young for Bletso but never the less had an excellent night out at the old barn on Saturday with my mates Mark(Blueten on this site) and Paul(known as Zootsuit on this site) who did attend Bletso originally and other earlier soul venues in the area who also gave Saturday night a thumbs up.Thanks to the promoter and all the dj s involved for putting the work in that ended with such a good result. There were lots of people there who I knew from near and far and all seemed to be having a good time ,regardless of the floor being concrete there were plenty of folk up dancing from start to finish, that's thanks no doubt about it to dj's Glen,Dennis,Gibby and the others who all played a premiership game.Wigan  Casino classics ey,wonder how many people actually know how many tunes were being played eons before down well south of a line drawn across the middle England in a farmers field(before the northern got into soul) somewhere in the depths of Bedfordshire. As I said earlier it was great to see so many faces belonging to lads and lasses from Corby,Kettering ,Wellingborough, Northants,Beds,Cambs and surrounding places who were there at the start and or or after or recent returners to the scene who played a part in making  what came to be called "Northern",soul what it was and is.

I cant see any fault in Saturdays proceedings apart from the fact I would have loved it to have gone on longer into sun up say.Had a good verbal afterwards for the rest of the night with Mark about how good it was.I hope it becomes a regular thing then it could go down in plenty of diaries as a no miss it event. Thanks again to all concerned.I nearly missd this one as I have recently been going to a gym after manys years and had done an all nighter the week(aches in me body) before but I am sure glad I didnt as the tunes and company and atmosphere provided a great dose of medicine for "Whatever ails ye"Once again thaks to Steve,Glen,Dennis and everyone else concerned.
