Hi Kev,

sorry you cant make it mate, but your priority is to get yourself better and we will all be glad to see you when you are well enough.

Really looking forward to playing some tunes at this great venue for a very appreciative crowd, you really have to dig deep when you play here as nearly everyone is a DJ or serious collector.

If you have not been here before you will be made most welcome by a friendly crowd so hope to see everyone on the 21st March.

Cheers

Chris

Well, really looking forward to seeing everyone again this Friday and of course delighted to have been asked to spin a few toones with Chris. On this occasion have booked a hotel nearby and will be dining at the 'C o Bud ' to help me pull back some of the 19 lbs I lost recently due to illness. Gaye's coming along to sort out Spook in case he finds the  low numbered cards! Those crutches can be quite painful!!

Best wishes, Col Kidson

Wow what a night! Where do I start ? Well the intention was to leave home at 1.45 and arrive at the Brittania Hotel, Daresbury Park by 3.00, but as usual the M6 threw a spanner in our meticulous planning with an incident which delayed our arrival to 4.45 !! This scuppered our plans to use the pool and chill out for the remainder of the afternoon. So a quick change of clothes, call a taxi, and arrive at the C 'o' Bud 6.45. Walk into the restaurant where we find Ann & Steve just finishing their meal and staring at an empty red vino bottle. Pleasantries exchanged and they leave to go into the venue room while we tuck into large gammon steaks, licking our lips !!

As the evening unfolded, all the usual suspects turned up plus some new additions which really generated a kind of warmth and friendliness which kind of tells you what this place is all about. All the dj's played thoughtful interesting spots with a mixture of underplayed sounds befitting this venue.By the time it was my turn to spin some toones, the copious amounts of amber nectar consumed by myself did start to cloud my judgement. Can I assume the cards I was shown, instigated by Spook and his cronies :-) was for my handling of the mike, and therefore were the scores for artistic impression ! rather than the quality of the toones played? ;-) Overall a fabulous night with some great people and some hearty laughs along the way.

Our thanks to Dick, Margaret and Barry for giving us a lift back to the hotel.Full monty breakfast this morning and arrived home 11.00am. Can't wait for next month!!

Take care,

Col Kidson
