Just over three weeks to go till this one---our April event was one of THE outstanding events we have had at the Legion, loads of interest in this one so here's looking forward to another big big night at the one and only Burscough British Legion!

If quality soul and R&B are your thing, all played on original vinyl then Burscough Legion is the place for you!

Possibly the best mix of music around---rare northern, underplayed oldies, uptempo R&B, lesser played spins, a smattering of crossover and modernish sounds and much more. Three different guest DJs each month and we don't tell them what to play, we just let 'em get on with it!

So see you on Saturday 24th May at the one and only Burscough British Legion.

Please note, we have a zero tolerance policy on tittyshaking, especially when applied to middle aged slightly overweight men in vests and baggy kecks. I thank you.

Didn't know Tony owned a vest, apart from the string one he wears on Bridlington beach every year.........

The two are infinitely incompatible. Twerking is an aesthetically pleasing artform which has reached its cultural zenith at Burscough British Legion. Tittyshaking is a mere plebian pursuit practiced by sexual deviants like yourself and has no place in todays rare soul scene. Be warned, any hint of a tittyshake will be stamped out immediately and the participants barred for life!  :glare:

On a lighter note, anyone wishing to book accommodation for any events at Burscough Legion should follow the link below, a great little B&B just five minutes walk from the venue.

Anyway, enough of the horseplay lets get down to what Burscough Legion is really about---the music. You won't find a better mix of sounds in the North West (IMHO), if you're looking for something a bit different then come along to the Legion on the 24th May to see (and hear) for yourself.

There's always space for a highland fling, but tossing the caber is strictly prohibited.....unless its Andy McCaber, that is........

Is there a risk of splinters !!!And shouldn't you get his permission before authorising tossing events willy-nilly .........it could all get out of hand !! You could end up having to pull the event with smut like this .

Well, the big day has finally arrived.......lots of great music, fun and frolics and top people over at Burscough Legion this evening.  :D

I received a phone enquiry yesterday asking about the Legion, music policy etc. I tried to get back to you but couldn't get through, sorry about that. In answer to your questions, the Legion has a great wooden dancefloor, not the biggest in the area but always in tip top condition. Some people come to listen, some to dance. As for the music, our policy of having three guest DJs every month ensures a different mix of sounds each time. If you come over you will hear a wide variety of tunes including underplayed sounds, uptempo R&B, crossover and 70s, rarer spins and big rare oldies--and all played on original vinyl. We give every DJ two spots each so if you don't like one set wait half an hour and someone else will be on!

All we can say is come along and give it a try. I won't pretend that the Legion is everyones cup of tea but we're in our 7th year now so we must be doing something right!

See you all in a few hours time.......

Cheers Andy, glad you enjoyed it. Quite a few new faces, some said they would be back, some didn't! A good turnout considering what was another very busy night locally, and a great selection of tunes from all the DJs. Ta to everyone for turning up and to John, Les and Nigel for spinning the tunes.

Next one over at the Legion is our 7th anniversary alldayer on Saturday 28th June with a mega DJ line up! Hope you can make it.
