Well a very good evening to all and a special hello and get well soon to the legend that is Barry "KGB" Holland and great to hear that you're starting to be well on the road to recovery after your recent spell in hospital so with any luck we'll be seeing you behind the decks with your fully recharged batteries and fighting fit for next months event and no one but no one plays British releases like you do but all joking aside it will be lovely to see you back where you truly belong!

Okay so a little run down of Saturday's proceedings and once more a very healthy turn out including a nice spread of age groups and once again yet more new faces in attendance and that's always a positive sign to see.

So you'll have to forgive me if i seem to be going against the listed line up but on my arrival the starter spot was in the very capable hands of Bob H who had even at such an early part of the evening nailed the evenings play list with a healthy selection of well loved tunes and many of them well loved KGB standards but was some what of a master stroke and the old saying summed it up to a tee "play to the floor" and Bob H did and it was somewhat of a pleasure to see so many people taking to the floor so early in the night a having a good dance a well thought out first spot and there was more to come.

The decks were then handed over to a young lady DJ the fantastically attired Abbey who could have come straight from London's Carnaby Street in the height of the "Swinging 60's" even down to a fantastic coiffure hair style great look and image.

Abbey carried on perfectly from Bob H's spot and even a slight technical hitch mid set didn't deter her too much and as her deck time went on we we given a very varied but well in keeping selection of dance favorites and come the end of her set i'm sure she felt a lot more confident and even started to give the mike a little more usage but a solid hour nether the less and from a lady not afraid to mix and match her spot, a very much an across the board performance and good on her for that.

After Abbey came the very confident Nigel Filmer who wasn't going to change the formula too much and now Nigel had a fully primed and ready to go dance floor and took full advantage of it disc after disc of old KGB classics was the order of the day (and when i say old KGB i mean when the club was in a different part of the building, music wise it was 100% accurate even down to the muffled microphone not a fault with Nigel but room acoustics i must add) a very well worked spot and not one single record that didn't work, dancers doing their thing from start to finish, the plumes of Johnson Baby Powder coming from the floor would be testament to that and perhaps even playing some selections from the back of his record box either way a well worked out 60 minutes.

To finish Bob and Nigel Teamed up for a spot of double decking to finish the night off and the lads carried on in the same fashion as they had done all night, once again a thoroughly enjoyable evening and a well done to Bob and Nigel for coming to the aid of Barry and putting the night on it was well worth it.

So once again get well soon Barry, and i'll look forward to seeing you all next month.

Go steady,

Russ

Thanks for another well written summary of the night, it's like I was there all along, LOL. Thanks to all the well wishers and after a two week stay at the all-inclusive NGH I'm feeling much better now thanks.

Thanks to Nigel and Bob for making sure my arrangements went to plan on the night and looks like you both did a cracking job, thanks again.

Unfortunately as the rumours went round on saturday, the rumours are now fact, and the next KGB will be the last one. Everything has now been sorted, so look out for details on S.S. and F/B.

See you all very soon, Barry, KGB, KTF.
