Micky Cruise Memorial Fund Raiser All Dayer Details

With a big thank you to the Orrell Soul Club and New Century Soul we now finally have a date for Micky's Memorial All Dayer. I would like to invite all of you to join me in a day full of soul, fun and laughter in Micky's memory. The event will be held on Sunday, 25th May 2014 at St James' Social Club, Orrell, Wigan where we will be kicking off at 1pm in fine style with a fabulous line up of DJ's playing quality soul music right across the board.

My side kick, Julie Molloy has some great raffle prizes, kindly donated by some of the soul scene's finest promoter/record dealers, all to be won on the day.

Admission will be £5 and all proceeds will be donated to The Psoriasis Society.

Micky suffered with this condition most of his adult life and I'm sure he would be very proud to see you all in attendance raising money for a great cause, so close to home.

I hope lots of you can make it. It's going to be a fantastic day. See you then everyone. Love and Respect Annie xx

Here are a few of Mickeys favourite DJ's that have confirmed to do this event

Ian Cunliffe, Phil Wainwright, Alex Jones, Karl Rhodes, Tony Smith, Paul Hamer, Stephen Morrissey, Eck Hawes, Melv, Sean Haydn, Tony Harris,Jimmy Buff, Tommy Allinson, Bob Burton, Trusty. Jock O'conner, Chris Waterman. More to be Confirmed

Ok, so here goes. It's been very difficult to get 18 DJ's into 11 hours so I've teamed up 'Double Decking' around knowing each other and keeping a great set together. I've also fitted times around babysitters, work commitments, pets and travel. Remember, the day is all about our wonderful friend, Micky Cruise. No offence will be taken if anyone needs to step down or can't make it, just PM me asap please.

1.00 pm Chris Waterman
1.45 pm Eck Hawes and Michael McShane
2.30 pm Karl Rhodes and Stephen Morrissey
3.30 pm Paul Hamer and Sean Haydon
4.30 pm Trusty and Bob Burton
5.15 pm Tommy Allinson and Tony Harris
6.00 pm Phil Wainwright and Alex Jones
7.00 pm Tony Smith and Jock O'Connor
8.00 pm Ian Cunliffe
9.00 pm Andy Dyson
10.00 pm Guy Hennigan
11.00pm Dean Anderson

There's a bit of something tucked away to suit all tastes with these guys. Each and everyone having great records and also very special friends of Micky's over 30 years plus. See you on the 25th!!

Sadly, Guy Hennigan cannot get 'Up North' in time for Micky's Memorial. He is gutted, we are gutted but the show must go on. Jock O'Connor will now hit the decks after Phil and Alex, obviously with the style and class we are accustomed to with Jocko and the lovely Tony Smith will now be hitting the decks at 11pm to bring the final hour to a close with the magical bang that the day deserves. So folks, it's still all systems go, and still a day that will just be full of the finest of the fine in across the board soul music....

Gutted I can't make this, my Mrs is out on that day so it's my turn with my baby boy. Look at the line up.

Have a ball people and get up to all sorts of Capers, Micky wouldn't have it any other way.

Well as Micky used to say 'Shy bairns get nowt'. Annie and myself have been very proactive today. We have one of those giant cheques ordered from the bank for the publicity photograph but we have also contacted the Psoriasis Association and told them about the fundraiser. They are sending me posters and a couple of t-shirts but the most rewarding thing of all is they are going to make Micky a feature on their website, Facebook and Twitter. Ho'way the lads. Back of the net!!! The legend does live on, he is going global....

Okay then, maybe one last time. And in memory of a legend on the Northern Soul scene, he didn't DJ, he wasn't a record dealer, he just epitomised the true Northern Soul scene, that most people will never get. A proper Northern Soul boy. And to paraphrase one of his top records, Let's Try It Again, see you there, or else!

Looking forward to this now, good people, good music and in the home of good pies. What more can be asked for. Other than a TV showing my football team digging themselves out the mire, hopefully!

See you all tomorrow!

What a fantastic afternoon/evening & a great tribute to Micky

Great to see so many of the original crew, almost had kittens when Gaz Kellet came storming in. Paul Hamer did make me laugh "I love it when Gaz turns up ...... as he makes me look normal" :D

Well done Andy, Tre, Chris, Marcelle, Julie, & Annie for putting on a right good do & raising lots of cash in Micky's memory, you did him proud :hatsoff2:

Well just about recovered from that awsome day, a fantastic turn out for a truly fantastic guy that was Micky Cruise, as everyone said not a bad record played all day so thanks to all the DJ's for making the day what it was. I must say a special thanks to Mick H for coming along to support this event and then having to step in and cover for Dean who couldn't make it. A true reflection of how micky is loved was the distances that some of these guys travelled to do there bit, but the biggest thank you goes to all those who attended and donated there hard earned cash to this worthy cause and made this a day to remember, I salute you all your a credit to this scene we all love.
