Can't believe I got stung for £13 "On The Door", which was actually from the Box Office half an hour before the door opened, and was almost double the advance ticket price.  To add insult to injury, the Main Hall wasn't open as advertised, due to a lack of ticket sales.  This place has gone downhill in a very short time.

Me too, Steve. If only I'd read the flier properly... High price on the door keeps the riff raff out though. Also a disappointment we weren't in the main hall too. But, some good dancing to be had if you avoided the couple of uneven parquets in the middle of the floor

I agree with Steve !! How can one small room and small dancefloor and a posers bar warrant a £13 entry fee !!! I knew it was only 2 rooms but assumed we would have our usual Northern room. Coupled with the potholes in the floor too......small wonder Richard Searling wasn't pleased. DISGUSTED isn't the word. Not be doing that again :-P

When I asked the lady at reception why the main hall was closed she initially said "Public Demand".  I said don't you mean lack of demand, to which she replied it's what Richard Searling wanted.  Don't know who or what to believe, but the main draw for the KGH for me is the main hall.  I lasted about 30 seconds in Blakey's.  Like you said, a posers' bar.
