Lowton has always been a great venue, and at times couldn't be bettered anywhere. So it's time to re claim it's throne and spit out great tune after tune after tune to keep those floors full all night long. I'll be doing my best in room 2 with my little box of records in the Love Music Review Style-great music that doesn't always get played out enough. I'm excited about Barry playing some amazing tunes, after he's dusted them off. Roger has been getting lots of fan mail for his non cd sets and Bob and Plumby are always at the top of their game, but I'll try and push them further!

Just putting the CD's together for Friday.

We'll have two different CD's to give a bit of choice, one featuring some of the tunes I've heard spun in the main room over the past year and one with tracks from Andy to give a flavour of the new back room sessions. Some great music going into these (IMHO) so dont miss 'em!

Really looking forward to the return of Lowton, particularly the 'Love Music Review' back room. Played the back room virtually every other month from the mid 90's to the early noughties with some great memories. This time we are taking a step back to the original vibe of the back room (BEFORE it became the countries leading soulful garage room) to the day when Crossover was king and 70's/80's Soul was the order of the day. Like I said............REALLY looking forward to playing a few tunes with Bob, Baz & Roger.........................and the bloke that wrote about it back in the day too (Andy)

Hope to see a few of you down there?

Cheers

Steve

Welcome back Lowton .... I've blxxdy missed you !!!

Main room was very busy whenever I popped in there, folk were enjoying themselves, & it looked great!

The Back Room was immense!! Like a "modern" soul reunion. Whilst I do like some of the boom boom boom of soulful house you hear at a lot places these days, it was wonderful & refreshing going back to basics & savouring proper soul music from across the decades (primarily 70's & 80's) I loved every minute in that sweatbox last night, & it was great to see so many faces who have shaped the North West modern soul scene out in force.

Well done to all concerned on such a successful night

I can't make the 12th September one as I'm away at the seaside, but I will be at every other one I can attend

Much love to all & lots of thanks

Must say a heartfelt thanks to baz and crew. Rob Smith and i were there doing what we do-carting vinyl around for hungry collectors etc. we were made to feel most welcome and witnessed a really fine evening of Rare Soul, with everyone excelling with their playlists-the alternate modern room was buzzing with dance floor action too, very enjoyable-Plenty of orders taken for vinyl and c.d's, plenty sorted on the night-LOWTON is BACK with a BANG- dont miss next time-(rob smith guesting and playing sounds like: The Limitations-Im lonely, Im troubled, Robert Tanner-The barons on cobblestone, etc etc) Dont miss out - Lowton is by far one of the best venues around and will indeed go from strength to strength

A very good night with some proper dancin tunes; numbers up on last time helped make a good atmosphere.

Venue definitely heading in the right direction and I will be back for October event.

I didn't spend much time in modern room cos its not my scene but those in there seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Well done to organisers and DJ's.

Tune request for next time - United Four - she's putting you on
