Hi Folks,

Just one day to go before the next Northern Line.

Support has been growing and growing since we were asked to 'go monthly' as opposed to every other month.  So thanks to all that encouraged us to opt for the 4th Saturday of every month in 2014.

This month's special guest DJ is Chisser and his set should be a treat.

Numbers have been increasing month on month, so if you want to bag a table and a seat (plus make best use of reduced entry prices) I'd encourage you to be early.  It's just £4.00 pre 9.30pm, £5.00 thereafter.

Hope to see you on Saturday.

Chris

Looking forward to this one, we have changed to monthly events with a reduced entrance for people who arrive before 9:30

and it has been the best thing we have done with numbers considerably up on last year.

Tonight sees our very good friend Chisser from the SIDAC soul club as our guest, he always plays to the floor so it should be a great night.

Chisser is the first of our "Local" guests for this year, but we have a few more lined up to compliment the best DJs from all over the UK we have booked for this year.

If you haven't tried the Northern Line give it a go you wont be disappointed.

Hi Folks,

This is just a quick note to thank you all for your support last night.

We knew that a large contingent of our regulars were already committed to the Bridlington Weekender (or to other holidays).  As a consequence we fully expected numbers to be a little lower than usual and we were right.  However, that didn't seem to dampen anyone's spirits and although having fewer people in attendance makes it a bit more of a challenge to build the atmosphere and fill the floor, no-one seemed to mind and those of you who lent us your support seemed to have both a good time and also fairly sore feet by 1.00am.

Next month, we should hopefully be back to normal (with your support and with our special guest, local collector and DJ Norman).

For me there were 3 highlights of the evening:

  1. The support we did receive from those that attended, and that was despite a full local and national calendar of events (Bridlington understandably being the key draw for many people).  To those that supported us, thank you!  To those that couldn’t be there...we hope you had a great time and will try to pop down to see us in July.
  1. Chisser having a great time, for giving everyone else a great time and for playing a set that resulted in as full as possible a floor for his hour — thank you Chisser!
  1. John Griffith’s last hour.  John really dug deep and played many records that I hadn’t heard ‘out’ for years.  I was gobsmacked at just how good and how fresh some of the records sounded given that I hadn’t heard many of them for yonks (in fact I can’t even remember the last time I used the word ‘yonks’).   I’ve known for years just how good John’s taste is (and how encyclopaedic his knowledge is) and given the reaction on the floor I’d say there were a fair few others who had forgotten just how good some of these records actually are.  These were the kind of tunes that attracted me to the scene in the first place...many thanks John for reminding me how my journey started — thank you and much respect!

We’re back in 4 weeks time on Saturday 26th July...so hope to see you then.

Kind regards

Chris
