Morley Sunday Soul Details

Morley Sunday Soul

Serving up a Northern, Modern and R&B with a small slice of Classic Club Soul on the side, first Sunday afternoon of every month.

Resident DJs: Steve C, Craig Robinson and Steve Sulivan

2:30 pm till 7:30 pm, door tax free.

Lovely pub with reasonable beer prices, plenty of parking, outside seating for sunny afternoons, and handy for motor ways.

The music features Northern Soul including original and modern, Crossover and R&B. It also includes Mecca Soul (Motown, Stax, Invictus, Island etc..)

Half hour Open Deck sessions available most month, but book early to avoid disapointment.

At the event, we play vinyl only. As 7" records in quality can weigh a considerable amount, it isn't possible to have every record guests might ask for. Each DJ might drag as many as 200 singles backwards and forwards to each event. So why don't you give us a heads up of what you might like to hear by making a post below. We'll do what we can to ensure it's there at the soul session.

So an afternoon of banter and chat listening to some great soulful sounds and quaffing a few lemonades. (Hand pulled beers are available ;-))

Tony the landlord will give you a friendly welcome and it will be great to see you there.

We would like, if it is at all possible to get all the DJs who have ever played at the Shoulder of Mutton out for this one event to celebrate our first anniversary. Are you up for it guys?

A year gone by so soon?

Looking forward to making a bit of noise on Sunday afternoon.

It would be good to see "y'all".

My favourite Sunday venue.

Chilled, relaxed and within staggering distance of home.

Outdoors dance floor!

Come along early, to be assured of a seat.

Gentle reminder........

What is.....?

better than tagging round whilst the significant other half "does" shopping......

beats washing the car, cutting the grass or DIY.......

Pop in...I am sure you will like.

Early doors slot for me. (15:00 onwards)

If you want to avoid hearing my spins then get in after 16:00!!

Well it has to be said, what a brilliant afternoon. I couldn't be believe there were people there before we turned up and waiting for us to start. To those who brought nibbles, thank you very much. Everybody commented on how nice they were and how welcome. The DJs, once again played like Trojans. We all had a lot to learn and take note of. Thanks everyone for making our first anniversary such a success.

Andy Carling from The Engine Shed in Wetherby started us of.

Steve Sullivan from Burning Sensation in Skipton kept up the interest

Cam Kelly from Kirkland’s and Pie hall kept up the pace

Paul Mayer from Stax in Rotherham created a crescendo

Steve Crawshaw filled the floor with twisting gyrations.
