Well the possible start of big things for Charity Soul UK - invite to Contours - Whitby went with a smash for all concerned (TOC, Nigel, Me and Her Who Must Be Obeyed).

Can I say a BIG BIG thank you to all donators and contributors to our charity, we raised approximately £430.00 which will go towards Professor Maitland's research. Our new stand with pull - up banner depicted the aims of our charity to be a competent, professional, dedicated and well run organisation.080.thumb.jpg.e576e81c8a5907282d5b0ec5c0

The two night at Whitby were totally different from my previous soul events, this time being part of team delivering a message to the Public, rather than be being just part of Joe Public enjoying the forthcoming acts. The Pavilion venue is pure class, the dance floor in the main room, for the few times I was able to have a couple of 'twirls' was incredible. The contours could not preform any better, taking into account the ages of these guys, the show on stage plus numbers selected was ideal. Speaking with them and the 'involvement' with the soulies at the meet 'n greet was a credit to these guys afterwards.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Also must mention Gloria Jones, had to pin a Charity Soul pin badge on her , cough, cough, chest and to say my hands were trembling:wicked: trying to fix the b*****y clasp was an understatement. Thanks for the kiss Gloria. will never wash my cheek again!!!!!

All in all a couple of nights to remember.

My first observation was how many people can you jam into a building and not be declared 'too many'?

In effect there were 3 'rooms' and all were packed. Too packed for me!

Great atmosphere and something for everybody.

The Contours gave a great performance, and got the crowd going.

£20 for a two night weekend cant  be bad and every other bar in Whitby had jumped on the bandwagon, which gave the feeling the town had been invaded.

In the 'rare/northern room downstairs, it was great to hear the rare and not so rare. DJs played top 500 as soon as the dancefloor emptied, which was smart.

I'm sure if a 'big name act' gets put on each year, this will be permanent annual event.

Folks of all ages and from all walks of 'soul life' were there, and all having a great time.

Great result for Charity Soul and everyone who attended this wonderful weekender . Went with high expectations which if anything were exceeded from the unseasonably hot weather, Whitby itself and the Heritage coast, the venue, the organisation, The Contours live and a showcase for Gloria Jones highlighting her immense talents for those releases and as a significant songwriter.. had a memorable chat afterwards with wonderful lady and heard 1st hand about the re discovery of 'gone with the wind...'

Vibrant market place and packed dance floors upstairs and down. Great music throughout.
Talking to many it's already a must attend for 2016 and if the rumours are confirmed about next year's live act it, imo is destined to be one of next year's highlights as was this event for 2015.
