Don't hide yourself away Phil, come on out in the sunshine baby......anyway, looking forward to you blowing the dust off them fine vinyls and spinning us some quality tunes on the 23rd May over at Burscough Legion. Always a superb soulful selection from one of Grumpys finest!

Anyone requiring accommodation on the night is probably best getting in touch with Heskin Farm which is the link below, just five minutes walk from the Legion. Only downside is if you end up in a room next to Mick Howard and have to put up with his burpin' and fartin' all night...... :hypo:

I can picture it now. Phil the hermit shuffling round his tenement flat. Smelling of cats. Thumbing through his collection of crackly vinyl with his fingerless mitts, blowing the dust off and sighing........So very sad........See you on the 23rd....... :(

A good cure for that is a teaspoon of Dog Oil before you retire to bed but possible side effects you may start barking or cocking your leg up at trees lol.

Thoroughly enjoyed it yesterday at t'Legion. The place filled up nicely as the evening progressed and the music was excellent throughout I thought.

Great to meet Alan J, lovely bloke, and to catch up with Errol, Dave, Bob, Robbo, Stu et al. Brilliant to spend a bit of time with my old mate 'Noddy' Blackburn - still the funniest man I know. A personal  highlight was hearing the words "get in" from the dancefloor - uttered by a small person from Preston - as the Prophets kicked-in. Brilliant

Plenty of laughs then, good chippy, which doesn't skimp  on the salt n vinegar,  within walking distance and good sounds right through as I say; what's not to like?

Really enjoyed getting out and playing a few records for a change; thanks again Tn L for asking me, always a pleasure

Couple asked for a playlist so I'll bob up what I can remember in, erm, playlists

cheers

phil

Cheers Phil, absolutely brilliant!

We've had some top nights over the last eight years at Burscough Legion but yesterday must rank as the best of them. Musically it was amazing from start to finish, the best mix of tunes you will hear anywhere.

Thanks to Phil, Dave Rimmer, Alan Jenkins, Mick Howard, Tony Mundey and Errol Green for spinning such superb tunes, fantastic chaps!

And after a bit of a slow start it really filled up nicely and we ended up with a great crowd and a full dance floor. And the good thing is that the place was still busy right to the end of the night, superb!

Thanks to everyone who came yesterday, your support over the last eight years is much appreciated and we look forward to many more years of quality tunes at Burscough Legion.

Next one over at Burscough is on Saturday 27th June with guest DJs roger Banks, Blunny and Neil J the Gamekeeper, hope you can make it over.

Fantastic tunes played in every set, great venue & what a friendly crowd......I am truly humbled to have been asked down to play alongside these guys.

It's the first time I've visited, but certainly won't be the last.

If you've never been.....you should certainly make the effort......you won't be disappointed.

Thanks to everyone who make me feel so welcome & to Tony for the invite.
