SOUL JUNCTION! SHADOWS & REFLECTIONS NORTHERN SOUL Details

New for 2015 The Soul Junction Courtyard Hotel Stanwick Northants NN9 6QY Northants only dedicated Soul Venue!

As well as Northern Soul Nights first established last year at The Courtyard 'SOUL JUNCTION' will be staging many other Soul related events including Live Acts, Motown, Jazz Funk, Rare Soul Nights etc. more details to follow. The Northern Soul Nights will carry on from where they left off from last year, with a slight twist featuring the inclusion of Len Doposon as third resident DJ, so the mix will now be spiced up with Lenny's Classic's and your favourite Northern Oldies and Stompers!

Call me on 07905 028003 for all info. record dealers traders welcome with prior arrangement For those that haven't visited the venue yet. It is situated 20seconds from the main A45 roundabout 5mins from Rushden, approx 15 to 20mins from Kettering/Wellingboro and 30 mins from Northampton. It has a great 'talc friendly wooden dance floor' nice chill out/ bar area with a fantastic seated large patio area outside perfect for the summer events, although i am sure that won't bother most ,as you will be indoors dancing all night

:) The staff are a great bunch and pretty much leave us to it, as long as we behave, we go on to a minimum of 1.00 am. sometimes a little bit longer :shhh:

All the best Jem

Been good to have a few Saturday nights in recently...batteries charged and ready for a run of soul nights out starting with this one :)

Positive momentum building with these soul nights at The Courtyard....new faces each time alongside the regulars, classic Northern played alongside a few different things to keep it interesting, always for the floor (well almost always :D) but guaranteed good night out whatever your taste in soul and whether you dance or not.

Top work Jem to get the owners on side for making this a dedicated soul venue for Northants this year and people asking what's coming up next?! See you there

Yeah Hi Steve, looks like an exciting 2015 at 'Soul Junction' good to have you and Len on board as residents for 'Shadows & Reflections' Northern Nights. Apparently we are Northants 'young soul rebels'

with the emphasis on 'rebels' so i have heard.  :P The three of us do have a combined age just over 130 though, so maybe the emphasis should be on 'young'

Haha. Yes I remember the film "Young Soul Rebels" from '91.. Set in 1977 London if I recall. Half decent soundtrack too! I was only 6 then so don't really remember it that well...1977 I mean, not 1991...there are still a few of us with hopefully a good few years of soulin' left in us yet  :D

Really looking forward to this and other nights at The Courtyard + elsewhere this year. Lots to look forward to! See you this time tomoro

Well gotta say I really enjoyed this first of many nights scheduled at this top venue :) ...Well done Jem, also Len, Dave, Topsy and everyone who came along to make it such a busy one to start the year as we mean to go on.

Loved the range of music played and so did everyone else from what I could gather. I know no one else will bother :D , but for anyone interested I've posted what I chose to play at the start and later double decking with Jem at the end:

See some of you there again this coming Friday for what will be a different but equally great soul night (Castaways and Nite Spot Reunion, which I know sold out within a couple of weeks!), Lenny's this coming Saturday, or at our Sunday Soul Sessions to make it three in a row soul weekender

Yes folks a really healthy turnout for the first of 'Soul Junction' Nights 2015, just avoided putting the 'Sold Out' banner up and managed to squeeze everybody in (just under 200) good to see some totally new faces in and plenty of regulars and nice to see Mr. Goucher south of Kettering again 'thanks for coming Brian'  Well done Len, Dave, Topsy and Steve for fulfilling the remit 'Shadows & Reflections' a blend of 'Classics and quality Soul records. The crowd really seemed to dig it! great fun doubling up with the 'young apprentice' Mr. Scotney (your not fired! yet  :P) at the end, have added to your post in playlists Steve, not that there is anything ground breaking in there on my part, but gives people an idea of what your likely to hear at S.J.

Well we are all back on the Soul Train this weekend, next stop 'Lenny's' filosofical sorry philosophical Soul Night on Saturday then stopping at The Sunday Soul sessions Kettering, can't be at Kettering as working but good luck with it Brian/ Steve.

Hope to see you all at The Junction on 21st March  :hatsoff2:
