For those looking for accomodation, Rudding Holiday Park might be a good option . Previously used as the Emmerdale film set , there's self catering Norwegian style wooden lodges around the lake and traditional cottages sleeping 2-7 from as little as £60 per night per unit .

Hi Billy

Always a pleasure to meet up mate, great mix of sounds for this one with some of the country's premier RnB and Soul DJ's, this sort of eclectic mix just never happens anywhere else, it's a great chance to hear music from some of the top clubs in the country and to top it all to be amongst some of the nicest guys in the country, as you say Billy 'Roll on March 28th'

Had a chat with Neil Lee on Saturday at 'getting to the point' and he is very much looking forward to this event, judging on the music I heard by Neil on Saturday we are in for a real treat, albeit though, Neil has total freedom and it's the freedom that he will absolutely revel in, question is who will be playing 'The Richard Kent Style - Go Go children as we both have it on Coral

Just a reminder to everyone that 'Charity Soul UK' is a registered charity and totally manned by volunteers.

Our quest is to help find a cure for prostrate cancer via stem cell research, we are helping with much needed funds for professor Norman Maitland and his team at York University who are leading the field in this kind of research.

This research, it is believed will also help the fight against other types of cancer and diseases.

All profits from the various 'charity soul' events around the country go directly to the Professor.

Getting close now , after a hectic week of racing about we are nearly there , the quality of Djs in all 3 rooms are brilliant which all makes for a great day .

Double decking with Dekka ( good job I can pronounce my Ds eh ) should be interesting aswell as dj Ing later in the main room , also tickets will be available for the massive Leeds rhinos event at Headingley stadium on May 3 rd , one not to be missed , and also pre booked tickets for the May 9 th event at St helens rugby league ground aswell , so all in all they are becoming exciting times here at charity soul least not on May 15-16-17 th there's a full charity soul weekender up in inglestone , Edinburgh to contend with , so climb on board the roller coaster that is charity soul and let's have a great time doing wot we do , why ?? Cos we can !!

Well the day is upon us and it's up and off to the Manhattan, three things to look forward to:

The Pump Room - Weatherspoons - some great real ales and stepping back in time in this fabulous building.

A Nice Little Italian Restaurant nearby that serve Rabbit Rissotto - benissimo

and last but by no means least, the one and only the incomparable, unavoidable and second to none Dekka's Roots Room ( Mrs. Hooker  )

The Pump Room was originally 'The Winter Gardens' ballroom/dance hall ' - if you look carefully much of the original building and interior remains .

Aah well another exciting escapade comes to an end, made it home from the wild wet & windy North Yorkshire badlands, to the flat, dyke ridden counties of the East, clutching within the mangled brain cells some new nuggets of information about records / people / places.

B***DY HELL ENOUGH RAMBLING, JUST TELL EM YOU HAD A "CRACKIN' TIME GROMIT".

Hi Billy,

Nice for both of us (Jenny and Me) to make your acquaintance, in the Roots Room, enjoyed the start of your set, had to leave as there's so much diverse music to listen to at the Manhattan, so that you have to spend time in other rooms.

Hope you enjoyed your stay in God's Own County and that we'll hopefully 'bump' into you again at other venues

A little bit late posting but sundays after the alldayers at Harrogate are a bit manic for me

Just want to say thank you to all the DJ's and people who came into the room for your support, as Billy has said the room is building a great following and people are very kind in their praise not just to me on the night but on public forums such as SS.

The quality of music from all the DJ's was just astounding, from Joel on at 4 right through to Steve who finished off the night in such rousing style, I realise every promoter praises his DJ's after all it is he who booked them but to have someone such as Gary Brown who hadn't had a drink all night ( I still can't believe it lol) stay in the room from when he arrived at just after 6 till the last record of the night from Steve just speaks volumes for the unrelenting quality that was on offer.

Well it's now onwards and upwards for the Roots Room, so hopefully see you all at the Leeds Rhinos Harrogate all dayer on sunday May 3rd

Well, that was fun!

Great company, great selections from The DJ's and a great host in Dekka. What more do you need: a beer or three next time maybe!

The punters in the Oldies and Modern rooms should really give the Roots Room a try. I know a few did and were straight on the floor - but the rest of them don't know what they are missing.

A pleasure (and an education) listening to OVO from Neil, Billy, Aaron, John, TOC, Steve and Dekka. Missed the earlier jocks sadly.

The Roots Room has all the potential to be a venue that's put in the diary as a regular to attend.

Some cracking DJ's lined up for the rest of the year too - I'll be back

Great stuff.
