just about 6 weeks to go to this one, and another huge night out at lowton civic hall, with this long running venue's anniversary. so many great memories along the way and a good many tunes broken at lowton, sure to be spun in celebration. plus.. our fantastic modern room set-up with that full-on loungers effect, and a great range of quality crossover tunes spanning  5 decades plus some of that oh-so upfront tuneage that gets the steppers in the groove...we've got it all to do in february and just in time for valentines..so lovesoulmusic, because it's what we're all about!!.

Quality all the way with this one Rob...the Anniversaries at Lowton are always that little bit special.

13 DJ's on the 13th, plus that extra hour till 2am so 7 hours of solid soul selections in two rooms

the anniversary cd is always worth attending for, beside what's on offer on the night....like a box of chocolates..you never know what you're gonna get!  and assuring all our members that they'll definitely get a copy by logging onto the website or emailing baz, in the event of them running out...we're expecting another fantastic turn-out and of course, we'll be crossing into valentine's day, so if there's a tune you'd particularly luuuurve to hear in either room...we'll get it sorted!

Where did you get the extra hour from Baz. I get six hours - 8 til 2. Still a bargain at the price. And if you all get there for 8 you'll get the full benefit:-)

in th LoveSoulMusic back room.

I've hand picked a box of soulful delicacies. Mid tempo delights from the darkest recesses of my record room  for early doors ears only- dripping with soulful intensity and heart on the sleeve emotional melisma just to get the party started, and later on a throbbing hamper of move it, groove it, lemon sharp Mecca-esque dancers. No less soul content, just pacier. "I'm happy 'bout the whole thing". Du du de du.

On the banner headline its quoting lowtons 17th anniversary but it started in 1996 so surely it must be the 19th anniversary

Good luck Baz ... hope you have many more successful years

Great stuff last night!

Rob Smith and Chris Fletcher thank all relevent parties for a most entertaining night, good music, good atmosphere and excellent old friends.

Star tune + soul inc My proposal + that Taylor guy again

Best hated tune that turns out to be one hell of a dancer = Crow-your autumn of tomorrow = one half of ginger and eddie - famous old, i mean old, DJ superstars,

Tone and joan, nice to see you

Biggest turn up for the books = appearence of wolverhamptons mascot = Smokie - No not you this time scotty, smokie denied being there AS usual (habit you learn as you grow up.

New friend = Jonathon who is 50 and talks sense.

Thanks Barry M and friends, as i said 'GOOD STUFF'

WOW!......The satisfaction is unbridled!!...firstly, an understatement to say we're thrilled with the attendance.....OVER THE MOON more like!! THANK YOU ALL, SO VERY MUCH,...you make this venue what it is  with you devoted support....a place to truly enjoy a great night out...and THANK YOU to all of the first timers, the people who come to experience what we offer and find out that it IS AS GOOD AS IT SOUNDS. Make no mistake, 19 years adds up to something very special,LOWTON'S longevity is due to it's appeal to locals and travellers likewise. It might be in the heart of the north west, but it's a haven for all-comers..last night was a prime example of that doctrin...but what really symbolized the aura of the venue, was seeing the main ballroom dancefloor, heaving with people...total satisfaction, it really makes promoting worthwhile, knowing customers trust your inclination to play the right music and use the right dj's.....our dj's are mostly localized, but with their own styles and collections of records that allows them to dovetail and not repeat tunes at the same time.

We're now really looking forward to our Easterfest..just 8 weeks away...the nights will be lighter, the weather warmer and the music, equally as enticing, so please clear your diaries and let your friends know...lowtoncivicsoul is 100% real deal soul music to entertain you. :hatsoff2:

Oh dear That's a bugger. Its Grand national weekend . We come over from Yorkshire and usually stay at the travel lodge or premier inn,but they've both wacked their price up to the 70 pound mark,so unfortunately that's going to rule us out.Is there no chance of bringing Lowton back to monthly in the future ?

I presume you guys realise that no bugger can read this thread on iPad or mobile devices? Too many embedded you tube clips. I have had to go to my lap top to post this.

Works fine on a Galaxy Note Phil, first time I've ever accessed it that way as well, could be settings on your phone if Ian is using Safari on his ipad and he can access it. Are you using WiFi or 3G?

I can access it but can't scroll down the thread because it's trying to download all the youtube clips. It's not just me because others have commented on other threads that are heavy with youtube clips.

Or maybe I have a faulty ipad?

I know some mobile phone providers by default wont allow the download of You Tube videos via 3g as it takes up so much data useage, so will only allow D/L when on WiFi......

Could be what's going on here
