Just want to say a massive thank you to Mark Freeman & Kim Freeman - Smith for putting this on & also asking me along to spin a few tunes. It was a most enjoyable night from a DJ'ing point of view & a punters point of view also as there were so many great tunes played to such an appreciative group of folks from near & far.

Speaking personally I had kind of lost my 'Mojo' a bit recently regarding DJ'ing & also by some of the goings on from the whole Soul scene in general but last night put all that behind me.

Great night, great music & most importantly great punters so a big thank you from me to each & every one of you.

Thanks to everyone who supported Saturday night and thanks to Mark for asking me to spin a few at this Co-Op night with a difference.  It was great to get chance to play some of those tunes from back in the day in contrast to a typical set of mine now.

I enjoyed listening to everyone else's selections, so a big shout to Mark Sargeant, Martin Dixon & of course Fluff himself for some great music.

I haven't been to the Co-Op in some time and it was a reminder of just what a great venue it is.

Hope you all enjoyed the music!

Cheers,
Mark R

Many thanks to Mark Freeman & all of the additional DJ’s in attendance for having the initiative to promote this event.

I think it was a choice of music far less well trodden  than the ‘normal’ alternatives of R’n’B, Crossover or Modern sounds usually selected, but that made a fantastically refreshing change, even if the first few chords of some tunes stretched my memory to some degree.

The people attending all seemed friendly, etiquette ensued with people generally skirting the dance floor rather than barging across it with one or two exceptions. Usually, such people are either ‘Born-again Soulies’ or ‘Casuals’ & is the only opportunity for them to get on the dance floor as they dare not/will not/cannot dance.

It’s fair to say the event wasn’t to everybody’s taste but the early leavers didn’t include those friendly Souls travelling from Devon or Gloucestershire to Keep Their Faith.

Thanks to all the DJ’s for a great night.

The event was definitely the ‘Blueprint’ this punter would like to see being utilised for future, similar events with a view toward playing good, overlooked sounds that simply aren’t listened to because of their scarcity or value.

Well done to all of those involved!

Certainly refreshing, definately a market for this kind of thing,so much fantastic 70s music out there never gets played!

Well worth the 250 mile round trip.

We would love to have come to this. :). Sorry we missed it!

I for one would definitely like to hear more of this era as an option for the "alternative" rooms around the country :D .
