Had a fantastic night and will be returning after thoroughly enjoying my 1st visit to Lowton. A shame The Willinghams were on at the same time as Colin Curtis as wanted to see both... I was going from one room to the other all night. Still enjoyed it though.

not a bad attendance at all, all things considered....with soul essence on at yarmouth, the numbers were down in the modern room.....but the music certainly wasn't lacking and the roomdressing gave the lounge a great ambience again...as for the main room, a great selection of varied music, which is going in the right direction. we accept, of course that everybody has their tastes and opinions, afterall, if we all kept going in the same direction, the music and the venues would be typecast..there's nothing wrong with the 500..a large proportion of us grew up with these tunes, and it's right that the up coming generations get to associate theirselves with these....dj's however set their stall out how they see it and try to give people variety and something to think about when they go home at the end of the night. Lowton has always been about promoting tunes that don't get their due, otherwise it wouldn't have survived 18 years and still be one of the leading and forward thinking venues that it is.

the cost of promoting and booking great places like this, continues to rise..it's an inevitability and affects everyone in the business..we've kept the price pegged for the best part of 2 years, only recently raising it to it's current price..we will always try to get the best dj's possible and endeavour to be as competitive as the scene demands...we really are up against some fierce & serious competition, but we are standing our ground.

last night's playlists, in all honesty, were top notch from my point of view,..i can't criticize in that respect, but we will always take on board constructive comment..be assured we will book the best guest dj's available, but the team here rotates as well so different tunes are always guaranteed!.

our june event features ROB SMITH, an ever popular and much  asked for dj, bringing his choice tunes from nottingham......we ,look forward to seeing you all again then...stay safe and keep the faith! :hatsoff2:

My first time too and I really enjoyed the music in the Modern Room, been playing Zingara all day.  Excellent sets from all the DJ's, will be coming back again.

we were aware, with regards the modern room, that a fair proportion of regulars would be off to soul essence, so support would be a bit thin on the ground, but i believe overall, that like yourself, those who did attend, would have been well impressed with our setting and the quality of the music which was, of course, 80's themed...Colin & the guys really are passionate about their music and their knowledge is not only vast, but second to none, so either way, it was always going to be a superb night.

hopefully, matters will be rectified come june and normal service will be resumed!!

we always make newcomers/first timers welcome and hopefully, guarantee you go away with the promise you'll come back for more!

The music last night was outstanding from start to finish - CC is a superb DJ no question, but sometimes I find it a bit nuts that people seem to think only a main guest is worth listening to when you have other DJ's on the bill who have such a lot to offer musically.  Such is the scene mentality eh?  That said, not really a gripe, just an observation, but last night proved that the 80s shouldn't be overlooked as everyone pulled out cream tracks to play from the off.  Onwards and upwards with this great gig that really does deserve to suceed in both rooms in my view.

i couldn't agree more roger, the room setting was fabulous, which makes for a great atmosphere...that's even without the bar as well, a minor inconvenience.....we ended up with a pretty decent crowd, all things considered. the music is a testimony to what lowton stands for....and we're still getting lots of travellers and first timers..these people are passing on positive comments as well, so hopefully they'll come back for more. as you quite rightly say, we'll keep on pushing the image hard and keep providing quality music, with an eye on something for everyone.

Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the music. I agree Willinghams were awesome, but feel you are unfair on the other DJ's who delivered splendid spots.

I tend not to listen to the DJ comments so they didn't piss me off. I judge em by the tunes played and I was happy with their contribution, plenty of dancing tunes.
