this IS one of the most talked about venue's for intuitive playlists...admired by many, but on the whole, providing the north east with a great alternative to the regular motr..and the guest turnover is continuous, though a few do get asked back again...understandably, because they have proved popular..but it's all about moving forward here..and so reminiscent of the Lea Manor Hotel, in my neck of the woods, that once blazed a trail. there's no discrimination with the music pattern.rarities mixed in with bargain basement tunes, hence the variety...so, i'm looking forward to spinning a few tunes, have a few beers and enjoy the hospitality..and i suggest a good many of you should be thinking exactly the same...get on  up and get on down..to some serious shades of soul!  :shades:

hope you're all getting geared up for this event, just a week away now. ive only just noticed the cd that's been put together...it's fab!, with a wide variety of tunes...just perfect for the car!!.loads of great stuff to be played on the night. Ian & Paul do a sterling job, putting this on every month, so please continue showing your support for them....nearly into 5 years now and that's not bad at all for a venue trying to play underplayed and semi known stuff of a high quality..so, vote with your feet and make Easter Saturday, Eggstra Special..Bangin' choonz and a Banging dance floor guaranteed!  :hatsoff2:

well, it was a long haul but well worth it....i can't overstate how good this venue is.very compact with a nice cosy, friendly atmosphere, as were all the people whom attended..thankyou so very much for coming and supporting serious shades of soul..it really is appreciated.....to the dj's and promoters a very big thankyou and a privilage to have the opportunity to do a spot here. IAN & PAUL really are top blokes, willing to give time up for dj's and collectors alike to come and play here, that's why the playlists are as good as they are....they've also got a stunning collection of tunes between them as well, as i witnessed. the same can be said for PAUL ACKLEY & DAVE EYLEY,..met these guys for the first time...and just got blown away with the stuff they were producing...they should seriously be djing all over..no wonder the north east is a growing melting pot of quality venues and people supplying the tunes. the RAFA is a venue i would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a refreshing twist on northern n' crossover soul and i'll look forward to paying another visit without doubt...keep up the good work guys..you deserve all the credit!.  :hatsoff2:

Our first trip up after seeing such great playlists posted on here & wasn't disappointed,a funky type thing Paul A played certainly grabbed the attention, look forward to seeing what it was when the playlists go up.

Great to catch up with a few reprobates I've not seen for ages & big thanks to Dave & Sue Scott for looking after us

Only down side was finding out Messrs Parker & Scott are on in June & we can't make it to heckle :D

Cheers
