Once again another professional and well run week-ender by the ECSC with something for every one, great crowd, music and friends a plenty. Accommodation booked again for next year before leaving like the other 2400, see you all out and about and on that floor and of course next year at the Spa number 11.

What a great weekend. Stayed in the main room for most of the time, but did have a recce around the other rooms at various times - all well attended and great range of sounds being spun, of course.

Just the one complaint; despite assurances in the very helpful and lavish brochure, there were Saturday night only entries being clearly and open sold. We stood in the queue waiting to get in on Saturday at about 7:30 and got chatting to two women who told us they "had been told they could get in for twenty quid". Shortly after, saw these same two ladies being fitted with wristbands, presumably after handing over the requisite monies. It's all well and good claiming that the venue is "never oversold" and "kept at two-thirds capacity for fire/safety reasons", but then to openly flout this position seems strange if not a little disingenuous. Luckily, the total evening experience wasn't spoiled by an uncontrolled influx of "tourists", but some clarity around the official position on this wouldn't be amiss.

Firstly to put the record straight

we dont sell one night passes   we  actually resell  tickets  for people who can no longer attend due to various reasons  " hence the price tag of 20quid " and its not for sat night  its for sat sunday   with  very few being available   hence people are told to be in the q early doors  for them this  deters the general pisshead trouble causer it makes it too expensive   . furthermore  just to put ya mind at rest  our door security  . turn away  undesirables   what you actually see are people who have reserved  weekend tickets and pay on arrival , we actually have people buying weekend tickets who only  attend sunday

we dont have to claim anything either  because the building is licenced for 3500  we allow no more than  2400 in

so please in future get your facts correct as we welcome constructive  remarks and facts

regards

This was the fourth year in a row that I've had the privilege and the pleasure to spin a few of my vinyl thingies to the most appreciative crowd I know. I simply adore this weekender and wouldn't miss it for anything. I'd still go if I didn't have any involvement with the DJing side. Love, love, love it!! Everything is always spot on, can't fault a thing! Roll on the 11th anniversary 2017.

This event is now over. Look up now to read the latest reviews of this soul event

Just a quick line as an introduction for the 10th Anniversary Fund raising for Bluebell Wood

We have already passed the £3,000 mark with various affiliated Clubs running special events towards our overall total of £20,000 since we started supporting Bluebell Wood as our chosen charity.

As funds arrive I take them over to the Hospice and here is the latest thank you letter, with a comment from one of the parents

A BIG THANK YOU to all who have helped so far in this

A reminder that anyone wanting tickets should get their skates on quickly as we are expecting an early sell out !

Just a quick shot out regarding the Bridlington Weekender #10 .24th, 25th & 26th June 2016

I've just been in a meeting with Ecsc RobWicks & Pat Brady and distributed our final ticket allocation. Can ALL agents start to call in all owed ticket money during the next few weeks as we will be needing any Un-sold tickets in by the end of the month as normal, we have a few un-sold so if you need a few extras to sell get in touch.

A reminder that if you have Booked your accommodation , but not yet purchased your Weekender tickets then you really need to be sorting this out ! THIS EVENT WILL SELL OUT ! We never oversell the venue, once we are at comfortable levels thats it ! Don't miss the boat, tickets are just £30.00 each ! 6 rooms of soul !

UP DATE UP DATE UP DATE !
Well what a fantastic night at the Selby Soul Club Bluebell Wood fundraiser last night ! A rare sighting of the 3 Brid promoters in one place at the same time. We knew we were in for something special and with our running total standing at £18,900, we thought we might just hit our £20,000 target last night. What we didn't expect was the way the event had been meticulously planned, a Master stroke getting local firms to sponsor the DJ spots meant £450.00 was in the kitty BEFORE a record had been played ! Everyone pulled out the stops in this fantastic venue. Paul Atkinson, Sammy Seaman, Mally Meah, Heath Denton, Ron Lavender & the rest of the gang all kept the floor busy til we left just after 1 am. What we did know was an early count up showed at least £2,700.00 had been raised and I've just heard from Paul Atkinson the total is actually £2,902.25 Utterly sensational. Which means our target has been SMASHED as our running total is £21,802.25 Thank you to all 16 Clubs that have taken part and to individuals who have donated too.
We have decided to "Raise the bar" for Bridlington to a new target of £25,000.00, lets smash it !
Thanks again on behalf of Myself, Rob Wicks and Pat Brady we are truly humbled at all your support. Thank you X

Rob
