Gonna drop some of the tunes I've heard spun in the main room over the last 12 months. Take it for granted that records being played around the 'scene' at the mo will be spun in the main room, but add some under-played gems (IMHO) and hopefully keeping Lowton 'on the lips' and in 'hearts and minds

Featured during his guest spots this year, Lowton regular Kev McCue has re-activated this super oldie in the main room

Here's a record that can fit snugly into both rooms. Usually play it near the end of the night in the back room for the committed crossover crew. Hardcore to a man (and woman). Loud, proud and anthemic. What's not to like?

And another anthemic record. But not in the sense of overplayed and over-exposed. A popular request recently in the back room.

Looking forward to another corking festive night of carol singing, northern soul style...some of the hymns will have a distinctive oldie worldy feel to them and some will have a more modern religious temperament...praise all of the wonderful congregation for attending and filling the charity plate on entrance....all donations will go to the upkeep of the breathren's hallowed venue in time for our 20th anniversary in February, which will also culminate in the birth of our patron saint, Valentine........in other words.......YIPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEE!!....IT'S CHRISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSMAS!!!!...AND WE JUST LOVE SOUL MUSIC AT LOWTON CIVIC HALL.......HALLELUJAH !!

Looking forward to a good night at Lowton as usual.   It's got to be a cold 'un, so make sure they've got the heating on Baz!  See you there.

Looking forward to it as always

Well done to Baz and the team for keeping at it and also cannot believe it's 20 years in Feb 2016, where has that time gone, seems about 20 minutes ago?

Cheers

Oh dear Lowton, what should have been a great night was completely ruined by freezing cold temperatures  inside the venue.  It seems that there is always an issue with the heating at Lowton.  Last night was the final straw for me having sat frozen for 5 hours. And don't anybody say 'you should have danced more' to warm up.  A soul night is about doing what you want to do and enduring the cold all night isn't fair for a 7 quid entrance fee.  You need more than a good dance floor to have a good venue, other factors have to be taken into consideration.  Might return in the warmer months unless somebody can guarantee the heating issues are resolved before then.

ps. Why offer a free cd and fail to deliver.
