We had  a great day. I enjoyed listening to the R&B in the ground floor room and we spent the majority of our time up in the modern room where it wasn't your run of the mill modern- it was all uptempo/soulful house. Good atmosphere in all rooms- well done to those who organised it- something for everyone and lots of money raised for charity

A big rap to all concerned for another fantastic all-dayer at Leeds Carnegie stadium. All the attendees commented on the sheer professionalism of the way in which the event was organised.

In spite of the massive numbers of events now promoted on the Sunday prior to May Day bank holiday, a great turn out for THE CHARITY all dayer, and Professor Maitland seriously enjoyed the day. Thanks to ALL the dj who give up their time for NIL payment just to contribute to our efforts in raising funds for Prostate Cancer research, indeed some of the dj's insisted on paying an entrance fee or in some case presented a donation to the raffle.

When Johnny Boy was on in the Motown Room it was absolutely 'banning' and rammed with excitement, a big big rap to Johnny for turning out for our Charity dayer on his birthday.

been told to bring full sports kit as Modern room gaffa Lodgy will be taking all the Modern room D.Js  for a full training session on the famous Rhino's turf .  comprising sprints , laps of the pitch , light sparring and calisthenics.  just to make sure we're in tip top condition for the monster 4 room event.   mmmmm  wonder if I can get out of it with a forged letter from me mam !

cant see Lodgy falling for that.

Looking forward to our third visit to Leeds with Charity Soul - lets hope the fundraising is as good as the previous one - in my role (one of many) as MOM (Master of Merchandise) as designated by the illustrious Andy Bellwood, I came across these recently at Headingley and took possession for selling/raffling as they will no longer be required at LS6 3BR

Well done Billy . Looks like there's a few more 'Dekka's Roots Room on tour' dates being mooted, raising funds for Charity Soul Uk all of which goes direct to Professor Maitland and his team at York Uni.

I guess there's lots of promoters out there who would like to do something similar to Billy and invite the 'mod' sounds of 'Dekka's Roots Room' to guest at their club - just contact 'Dekka' on here . He'll be thrilled to hear from you and doesn't bite lol.

Getting closer to the original, best May Bank Holiday all-dayer around (even if it is at Headingley,my favourite R L ground:g:) Four rooms Northern, Motown 'n live act., Modern and the ORIGINAL one and only DEKKA's Roots Room ( no Redemption Room [lol] designation needed here) just plain 'ole' fashioned ROOTS where the music originated from.

All this plus some of the best dj's in the business, live act 'Johnny Boy' for a tenner, even George O thinks it's a good deal !

Wow I can see the cracks been going on for quite a while now , I guess we can't do much more now so it's time to chill and we will get wot we get on Sunday , we can't do much more , or can we ? 4 rooms , 1 live artist , 1 professor , all trying our best to raise funds to fight cancer , we have so far donated £34k to the prof , be the end of next week we want it up to £40k , hopefully £50k by the end of the year or more , so plz come along and support us , starting at 2 pm for the warm up with the Yorkshire Carnegie boys who are playing in their play off with donny , and then off we go for our 8 hour stint of soul music and a few scoops to keep refreshed , I'm personally looking forward to Jonny boys show with his new songs , he's a quality singer and will make the day , so fingers crossed we will see u there for the warm up ???
