"A Shedful o' Soul" at the Mare & Foal, Manchester (FRE… Details

Hi All,

once again "A Shedful o' Soul" is back for our monthly across the board soul session but at a new venue.

As from 6pm until 11pm on Sunday 21st February we will be at The Mare & Foal, Ashton Road West, Failsworth, Manchester, courtesy of landlady Berni Ketesz. (Berni likes a bit of soul and Motown so expect a warm welcome).

The Mare and Foal in Failsworth has, in recent years, become a prominent local venue for live and recorded music of various genres.

Manchester Ska foundation have appeared here more than once and last week, The Soul Temptations, who will be on stage at the Bowlers Allnighter, packed the house.

The "Mare" as we locals call it, is a "compact" pub. It has a modern and comfortable interior with a small wooden dancefloor, outdoor beer garden and smoking area, a good range of beers, wines and spirits, at regular pub prices.

Just off the A62, Oldham Road, we're only a short walk from the main bus route and Failsworth Metrolink station.

For drivers there is a car park opposite that is available free of charge at weekends.

We don't have a DJ line up, as usual it's open decks (vinyl only) so if you fancy a spin, gimme a bell or message me here or on Facebook.

So if you fancy a great Sunday, evening listening to the best music in the world, in a friendly atmosphere with friendly locals, then get on down, you won't be dissappointed.

Hope to see you,

KTF & KOKO

Shed.

We had a fantastic evening, thoroughly enjoyed my spot in front of a knowledgeable crowd and was great to meet you all. The other spots were excellent with plenty of quality records being spun, right across the board. Keep up the great work, it really is a cracking venue!

All the best

Hi All,

just to say thanks to the DJ's, regulars and visitors who came along to support us on the day. As ever there was a good turnout and a good time was had by all. All in all I expect that this will become our new "home" for the foreseeable future.

Don't forget our "Back to the Youth Club" nights every Thursday from 8pm until 11pm upstairs in "The Mare"

KTF & KOKO, Shed.

Hi All,

just to bring you up to date on Sundays event, I now have a full list of DJ's so please don't ask me for a spot until next month!.

Lammy lady first, the Twisted Sister herself, local skinhead girl, Debbie Carty, will no doubt enjoy playing on her home turf again.

From Chadderton the deadly duo Andy Reedy our partner in "Competition Ain't Nothin" at The Carlton Club, Prestwich and Alan Massey, who is making a comeback to DJ'ing on the scene.

Steve Hay and Michael Taylor will be joining us from "Movin' on a Groove", Sale, along with John Mitchell from "The Soul of the Nightowl Show" on Radio Diamond.

Graham John Anderson, may be joining us depending on other commitments and it's rumoured that Carl Willingham and Maria may pay us a visit (Maria can you get back to me on that please chuck xx).

Last but not least our Vance Butterworth will be along, if he's fit enough, then there's yours truly.

So it's looking like 10 half hour spots from top DJ's all for the price of a few drinks (and your bus fare home lol).

Those of you who have attended our previous events, please like and share on Facebook and like or comment here on soul-source, if you can.

Your support in this first event at our new venue will help secure this as our regular venue.

For those of you who haven't been before, just look what you're missing.

Hope to see you, KTF & KOKO, Shed.
