About The Event

I really cannot put into words how amazing the Feburary alldayer was, and fortunately I don't need to,
as everyone that attended have done it for me with the excellent reviews and comments they have made. A massive thanks for that.

The next alldayer is another milestone in the 'Leeds Central' history, being the 5th reunion Anniversary.
Overall it will be then 45 years since the Central first opened it's doors to Northern Soul in 1971,
and 5 years since we resurrected the 'Leeds Central Soul Club' and put it back where it rightfully belongs
The Number 1 Alldayer in the UK.

This event will feature yet another one of the Original 70s/80s 'Leeds Central' DJs
IAN DEWHIRST (FRANK)
Along with the residents on the day, this promises to be another runaway success.
£7 on the door on the day.
Over 18s Only, No drinks to be taken into the venue, bag searches on entry, No drinks on the dance floor.

Looking forward to going back to my roots. I've just spent 6 months re-calibrating my 7" OVO collection, so I'm dying to bless some of 'em at my spiritual home. The Central was the first place I heard Al Kent's "The Way You've Been Acting Lately" when Rick Cooper played it at a Central nighter in the early 70s, so I'm spinning that for sure. Looking forward to it as it's been a few years.

Have the toilets improved? :)

Yes but they still flood just to make it authentic!

Really looking forward to this, think it's going to be a bit special so make sure to get in nice and early.

Just a couple of days to go to this legendary alldayer. If Feburary's event is anything to go by, this will be as much off the scale.
Looking forward to seeing you all there. I have bought so many records since the last Alldayer, I really am spoilt for choice as to what to play, so i think I may make it a an hour of underplayed classics, y'know, the ones that we all love and should still get played, but never seem to.

Can't wait.

Yet another belter of a day, an excellent combination of "Soulies", sounds, dj's and atmosphere. The place was buzzing from start to finish with everyone on the dance floor reflecting the really good variation of " Soul sounds" that the dj's played.None of the records played were the same played out sounds but in fact all were a breath of fresh air which culminated in a fantastic day.Looking forward to the next event in June.                                                                                            regards Fred.

Thank you Fred, it was a brilliant day indeed. Some of the most beautiful people on the scene were there, and I don't mean beauty in looks necessarily (although some were , I mean in their attitude towards soul music and respecting the scene and those that are involved in it.
Again the 'Leeds Central' proved that size isn't everything and good things come in small packages.
Also a MASSIVE thanks to Ian Dewhirst for being our special guest for this memorable occasion, a true professional which showed in the crowd response, and what an amazing choice of the last 2 records?? The Four Tops - Walk away Renee, and William Bell and Judy Clay - Private number, Just stunning.

Fantastic day and what a BRILLIANT crowd! Almost brought a tear to my eye playing those last few records. Lovely to see everyone in such rude health and lovely to have such a great crowd to play to some 43 years after I first played there. Thanks to everyone for making me feel so welcome! See you all soon I hope!
