This is a difficult one for me ; i love Elvis, and this track is superb, but in a Soul context, i feel that his voice is so distintive, that i feel it doesnt work in that field (if that sounds like nonsense, then please excuse my poor attempt at getting my point across).

It's "Let Yourself Go", which is the other side of "Your Time Hasn't Come Yet Baby" (RCA 1714), released here in 1968.
n
nPS - it's taken from the soundtrack of the film "Speedway"!!

right on chalky! i've been trying to get people to listen to this one for a while now. i first heard it back in 1988, but recently thought about it in a dancefloor context. i put one up on ebay, but no bites.
n
nnot straight ahead northern, but probably good for a mod or r&b night i suppose.
n
nby the way-i really dislike that updated version of "rubberneckin' that's out there.
ni still think "kentucky rain" is one of his most brilliant tracks ever.
n
nback to the subject though. i have to agree with brett on the voice and the "soul" factor. elvis went vegas with his singing style after awhile.
n
ni still support the track nonetheless.

nps... i've got a copy of "Let Youself Go" up for grabs. Anybody wants it, just PM me. i also have an original "Mystery Train" on Sun for sale (no joke)
