    From the Break It Loose - SF Bay Area Soul Weekender: "The Selecter DJ Kirk (aka Kirk Michael Harper) is a San Francisco native that has been DJing and producing events since 1982. He is best known for his all-embracing knowledge of soul through the decades, a nice record collection and his love of modern soul, disco, boogie, and soulful house music. Kirk has been involved in every aspect of music as a deejay, writer, event-producer and owner/manager of several venues.
