  1. Sorry to hear this. Remember him well from time spent in Manchester and at the Casino. He was a good lad. R.l.P. Tooley
  2. Very sad news. I first met Alan in the early 70s when the Jackson family spent a few years in Belper, Derbyshire and we stayed in touch, albeit sporadically in recent years. He was a top man on every level. Condolences to his family and those closest to him. RIP Alan.
  3. Sam was the only DJ I heard play the Ruth Christie. He did play it for a while but it was never going to be a monster sound without the Casino getting behind it. I liked it and still do but had completely forgotten it ‘til l saw the list.
  4. ‘Miracle Love’ was actually Ruth Christie, ‘Mystery of a Miracle’ on Tide.
  5. That brings back memories. Had one just like it in the 70's, long since gone. Nice one.
  6. Not the best quality photo but an original yellow and green copy:
  7. Motown special to celebrate the launch of Keith Rylatt's new book 'Hitsville! The Birth of Tamla Motown'. Saturday 12 November 2016 at The Old Kings Head, Days Lane, Belper, Derbyshire from 7.30 until 12.00. Admission £4.00 Please click on link for full details Modus Motown Special.pdf
  8. Just out of interest, the copy that Modus have for sale came out of Prince Buster's shop on Orange Street, Kingston JA in the early 90's. I got a few Northern things out of there: Paul Sindab on Hype (I'm Uptight, unfortunately!), a Volumes on Inferno, Anthony Raye on Impact and others l can't recall. Plus loads of reggae, of course.
  9. I believe this was one of the initial batch of acetates of this title that Simon sent over.
  10. Dreadful news. I didn't see a lot of Nick but always enjoyed a good natter and a fair few laughs whenever we bumped into each other in Belper. As others have said - great knowledge and relentless enthusiasm for new records. Sincere condolences to the family and those closest to him.
